Colleges and universities recruit students for their athletic skills rather than their academic ability This lowers the academic standards of a school but shortchanges of athletes who spend little time doing the academic work for later careers.

Sports and Conflicts


The games people play reflect their social standing. Some sports such as golf, tennis and etc are expensive. Taking part is largely limited to the well-to-do. Football, basketball, and baseball however are accessible to people at almost all income levels.

Conflict
Traditional ideas that girls and women lack the strength to play sport have now been widely rejected. Society encourages men to become athletes while women to be attentive observers and cheerleaders. Women also take back seat to men, particularly in the sports with the most earnings and social prestige.

Big league sports excluded people of color. They were forced to form leagues of their own. There are high number of African Americans in many professional sports is that athletic performance.

Conclusion. Colored players excel more that white players.

Sports as Interaction
