BPC

SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, version for SAP NetWeaver is a robust planning and consolidation application that can meet all of your budgeting, planning, consolidation, and reporting requirements. It supports the full array of top-down and bottom-up financial and operational planning needs as well as consolidation processes necessary to ensure the smoothest, most timely financial close possible all through a single application.

App set
An application set consists of one or more applications. An application set stores all the data from each application in it. It contains the set of dimensions that may be shared among its members. Administrators can create new application sets by copying information from an existing one, such as the ApShell application set provided with BPC (see ApShell Sample Application Set). When you upgrade BPC, ApShell is replaced. Therefore, you must use ApShell to create your own application sets for all implementations. When you create a new application set, BPC does the following: Copies the application set WebFolders/data within File Service Creates a copy of all NetWeaver BI objects Copies all transactional and master data from the source application set to the new application set Copies security and BPC metadata

Application
Transaction data base ex :- sales planning, HR planning. It is a functional unit used for a particular purpose, such as a Finance application or a Sales application. EVDRE
The primary reporting function in BPC Excel. An array based reporting function. You use the EvDRE (Data Range Exchange) function to generate Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) reports and input schedules. The flexible EvDRE function provides the following features: You can use EvDRE to create large reports or input schedules with optimal performance.

EvDRE is bidirectional; it can both send and retrieve data. It combines and extends the functionality of other BPC functions such as EvGET and EvSND. EvDRE is faster than these functions because it does not evaluate each cell. You can use EvDRE to build static workbooks (without expansions) as well as dynamic workbooks (with expansions), or workbooks where some dimensions are defined using static members while others dynamically expand.
