A Golf Tournament with a Mission In nine years, the Ho ward H. Belkin Memorial Golf Tournament has raised approximately $285,000 for breast cancer education and research in Connecticut. Every year, the CT Breast Health Initiative remembers its founding Chairman Howard H. Belkin for his spirit and unwavering desire to find a cure for Breast Cancer. We appreciate all who participate and use their love of golf to raise monies for the statewide work of the CT Breast Health Initiative.

T he Connecticut Breast Health Initiative has one goal. One desire. To help find a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime. Connecticut is ranked 11th in the nation in breast cancer mortality. For a small state, thats a huge challenge. T hats why weve focused all of our considerable energy and resources on education and research... funding forward-thinking programs that have yet to qualify for federal grants. And were doing it where it matters most... right here at ho me.

Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut Community Health Services, Inc. East Hartford Department of Health & Social Services, Hill Health Corp. Hartford Hospital Hispanic Center of Greater Danbury Hispanic Health Council Hospital of Central Connecticut Hospital of St. Raphael Ledge Light Health District MidState Medical Center Northeast District Department of Health Norwalk Department of Health Saint Marys Hospital St. Vincents Medical Center Foundation UCONN Health Center Uncas Health District VNA of Central Connecticut YWCA of New Britain Yale New Haven Hospital

Additionally, CT BHI partnered with UCONN Health Center to fund a professorship for clinical/ transitional research dedicated to breast cancer prevention, treatment and research. CT BHI funded this program for three years for a total of $300,000.
