Introduction:-

Entertainment consists of any activity which provides a diversion or permits people to amuse themselves in their leisure time. Media are the channels of communication that serve many diverse functions, such as offering a variety of entertainment with either mass or specialized appeal, communicating news and information, or displaying advertising messages. The media carry the advertisers' messages and serve as the vital link between the seller of a product or service and the consumer. Available types of media include print, electronic, out-of-home, and direct mail. Print usually refers to newspapers and magazines but also includes directories, school and church yearbooks and newsletters, and programs at sporting events and theatre presentations. Electronic media are usually referred to as broadcast media, or radio and television, including cable. Out-ofhome media are designed almost exclusively to serve only an advertising function, and include billboards, transit advertising, and posters in public places such as stadiums, airports, and train stations, as well as flying banners (banners towed by airplanes) and skywriting. Direct-mail media are advertisements that are mailed directly to prospects. As technology advances, new forms of media are being discovered every day, such as movie-house advertising and special automatic telephone devices with pre-recorded advertising messages. The entertainment media in Bangladesh is vibrant and especially the television industry, which is fast emerging. Since democracy was restored after the fall of the autocratic government in 1990, a good number of fresh newspapers hit newsstands with new idea and challenged all traditional practices. Daily Janakantha, Daily Ajker Kagoj and The Daily Star were amongst them. It still took a decade to introduce privately owned television until Ekushey Television (ETV) came on air in 2000. Until then, state owned Bangladesh Television (BTV) was the only television media for Bangladesh audience for news and entertainment programs. After launching ETV, a good number of television and FM radio stations were introduced with new approaches and ideas about how to cover news and current affairs, as well as entertainment programs. Now at least 10 privately owned television and four FM band radio are on air with huge popularity.

In the promotion. Ways of promoting entertainment media in terms of Bangladesh:

There are many ways to promote it which are describing as below: 1. Print media: If anyone want to promote, say for example a movie, print media can be very efficient in this case, because people do keep in touch with this kind of media. There are different types of print media which are:

Newspapers Newspapers are the most popular forms of print media. The advertiser in this case can choose from a daily newspaper to a weekly tabloid. Different types of newspaper cater to various audiences and one can select the particular category accordingly. Advertisers then design press advertisements where in the size is decided as per the budget of the client. It is the only thing that people like to get every day in their life. So if we try to promote entertainment media through newspaper, there will be a very big opportunity to catch all the eyes. The thing is that we should try to catch the famous newspapers like Daily Janakantha, Daily Ajker Kagoj and The Daily Star etc. But it can be a bit expensive for promoting. Magazines Magazines also offer advertisers an opportunity to incorporate various new techniques and ideas. Magazines are one such form of print media that give a more specific target group to the client. The client can make a choice of the particular magazine as per the product. There are some entertainment based magazines in Bangladesh like binodon Jogot where we can post the advertisement. Newsletters Newsletters also form an important part of print media. These target a specific group of audience and give information on the product. Posters Posters are forms of outdoor advertising. The message in a poster has to be brief and eye-catching as it targets a person on the move. We can set posters on walls beside the roads so that onlookers can easily get the message.

2. Electronic media:

Another way of promoting an entertainment media is electronic media which can be end up with a very effective result. All the sections of electronic media are describing below:

Telephone: Telephones are a point to point communication system whose most basic function is to allow two people separated by large distances to talk to each other

Radio: Another important way to promote something up is radio. We have different channels like radio amar, radio furty, fm 89.6 through which we can easily promote the media.

Satellite: TV channels are unavoidable option in this case. We can escape it if we try to promote something.

Internet: Its a very powerful way to promote something. Face book, YouTube and different commercial sites can play great roles to promote entertainment media in Bangladesh

3. Word of mouth: Last but not the least is word of mouth. Its a very strong way to promote something up that can give an effect on the listeners psychology. And anyone can change the mind then and their regard
