This product does not contain perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) or any component that contains PFOS. This product was manufactured in a multipurpose plant where some fluorinated products are also manufactured. The raw material suppliers of these fluorinate starting materials certify that no perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is used or added during its manufacture. In fact, these products are based upon a completely different chemistry than that associated with PFOS. 10.06.2010 Page 3 / 5 BYK-035

Our raw material suppliers further certify that for their products no perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is used during its manufacturing process, but that trace levels of PFOA may, however, form as an unintended byproduct during manufacture. We do not check the content of these substances as part of our quality control and therefore we cannot formally guarantee the absence of these substances. **Please note the difference between 'glycols' and 'glycol ethers'. The former are 1,2-diol compounds, the latter glycols with a C-O-C-bond. ****VOC (= Volatile Organic Compounds) is measured with headspace gas chromatography by analyzing the gas composition in the space above the sample (= headspace) inside the chromatography vial after an equilibration time of 60 min at 100 If not indicated the VOC is measured, it is calculated based on the C. composition and the boiling point of the individual components. ***Polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) Acenaphthene Acenaphtylene Anthracene Benzo(a)anthracene Benzo(b)fluoranthene Benzo(k)fluoranthene Benzo(g,h,i)perylene Benzo(a)pyrene Chrysene Dibenzo(a,h)anthracene Fluoranthene Fluorene Indeno(1,2,3,c,d) pyrene Phenathrene Pyrene
