Parable of the Lost Sheep

La oveja perdida
If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, he leaves the ninety-nine and goes to the mountains to look for his lost sheep. And when he finds it, he is so glad that he puts it on his shoulders and carries it home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors and says, Lets celebrate! Ive found my lost sheep.

Si un pastor tiene cien ovejas, y se da cuenta de que ha perdido una, deja las otras noventa y nueve en el campo y se va a buscar la oveja perdida. Y cuando la encuentra, la pone en sus hombros y vuelve muy contento con ella. Despus llama a sus amigos y vecinos, y les dice: Vengan a mi casa y algrense conmigo! Ya encontr la oveja que haba perdido!

Jesus is our shepherd. He always has hope for us, no matter how far weve strayed. So if you feel far from God, you need only open your heart to receive His love and forgiveness.

Jess es nuestro pastor celestial y Su amor que abriga por ti nunca mengua. Si te sientes alejado de l, basta con que abras tu corazn y aceptes Su amor y Su perdn.

The Wise Man and the Foolish Man

El prudente y el insensato
Jesus said, If you obey Me and love God and others, you are like a wise man who built his house on a strong, sturdy rock. When the rains and floods came, the house stood strong. Jess dijo: Si t crees en Mi y amas a Dios y a los dems, eres como el sabio que construy su casa sobre una fuerte roca. Y cuando vinieron las tormentas y el agua, la roca aguanto, y la casa del sabio no se derrumbo.

But if you dont obey Me and love God and others, then you are like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. When the rains and floods came, the foolish mans house was washed away.

En cambio, si no crees en Mi, ni amas a Dios o a los dems, sers entonces como el necio, que edifico su casa sobre la arena de una playa. Cuando vinieron las tormentas, la casa se cay y qued totalmente destruida.

You are the carpenter of your life. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Your attitudes and the choices you make today build your house for tomorrow. Build wisely!

Al igual que el carpintero, vamos construyendo nuestra vida. Cada da ponemos un clavo, colocamos una tabla o terminamos una pared. Con nuestras actitudes y decisiones de hoy construimos nuestra casa del maana. Edifiquemos sabiamente!

Parable of the Unforgiving Servant

El que no quiso perdonar
One day a king decided to call in his officials and ask them to give an account of what they owed him. As he was doing this, one official was brought in who owed him sixty million silver coins. But he didnt have any money to pay what he owed. The king ordered him to be sold, along with his wife and children and all he owned, in order to pay the debt. Un da, un rey mand llamar a sus empleados para que le informaran cmo andaban sus negocios y para que le pagaran todo lo que le deban. Cuando comenz a sacar cuentas, le llevaron un empleado que le deba sesenta millones de monedas de plata. Como el empleado no tena dinero para pagar, el rey orden que lo vendieran como esclavo, junto con su esposa y sus hijos, y que vendieran tambin todo lo que tena. As, con el dinero de esa venta, la deuda quedara pagada.

The official got down on his knees and began begging, Have pity on me, and I will pay you every cent I owe! The king felt sorry for him and let him go free. He even told the official that he did not have to pay back the money.

Pero el empleado se arrodill delante del rey y le suplic: Seor, dme usted un poco ms de tiempo y le pagar todo lo que le debo. El rey sinti compasin de su empleado y le dijo: Vete tranquilo; te perdono todo lo que me debes.

As the official was leaving, he happened to meet another official, who owed him a hundred silver coins. So he grabbed the man by the throat. He started choking him and said, Pay me what you owe! The man got down on his knees and began begging, Have pity on me, and I will pay you back. But the first official refused to have pity. Instead, he went and had the other official put in jail until he could pay what he owed.

Al salir del palacio del rey, ese empleado se encontr con un compaero que le deba cien monedas de plata. Lo agarr por el cuello y le dijo: Pgame ahora mismo lo que me debes! El compaero se arrodill delante de l y le suplic: Dame un poco ms de tiempo y te lo pagar todo. Pero aquel empleado no quiso darle tiempo, y mand que metieran a su compaero en la crcel, hasta que pagara el dinero que le deba.

When some other officials found out what had happened, they told the king what the first official did. The king called the first official back in and said, Youre an evil man! When you begged for mercy, I said you did not have to pay back a cent. Dont you think you should show pity to someone else, as I did to you? The king then ordered the official to be punished until he could pay back everything he owed. Los otros compaeros, al ver lo que haba pasado, se molestaron mucho y fueron a contrselo al rey. Entonces el rey mand llamar a aquel empleado y le dijo: Qu malvado eres! Te perdon todo lo que me debas, porque me lo suplicaste. Por qu no tuviste compasin de tu compaero, as como yo la tuve de ti? El rey entonces orden que castigaran a ese empleado hasta que pagara todo lo que le deba.

Everyone makes mistakes and needs forgiveness. Be kind and forgive each other, just like God forgives you.
