The Wikihouse
Our unique Wikihouse is an alternative inspiring space for holding 6-8 person meetings. Catering is available on request. The Wikihouse, designed by 00:/, has been recongnised with a TEDGlobal award. It won funding as part of the City 2.0 programme. Wikihouse is a open source construction system allowing anyone to design and build there own structures using an online platform and cnc self assembly components. A Wikihouse factory is soon to be deployed in the fevellas of Rio with support from TED.

Hub Westminster is proud to announce a collaboration with AP Central London Studios based in New Zealand House. AP Central London Studios offers unparalleled live panoramic backdrops from a choice of ve television studios - ranging from simple robotically-controlled single camera units for 'news style' live programme inserts, to fully-manned two and three camera operations capable of producing ready-to-air television shows. The 12th oor television studio facility offers a variety of live backdrops, including the Houses of Parliament and 'Big Ben', Buckingham Palace, The Shard, London Eye and the City of London nancial district featuring St Paul's Cathedral and iconic 30 St Mary Axe 'Gherkin' building. This studio has been used by international press and celebrities for all their broadcasting needs and provides a fantastic setting for press releases, electronic press kits or video introductions.

New Economics Foundation : A Local Banking System.
A conference on the creating a strong local banking system to support small businesses and local economies. The conference discussed how to adapt the current regulatory system to allow for effective local banking. Speakers included Anthony Thompson, chair of Metro Bank, Lord Glasman, Stephen Clarke of Civitas and representatives of European local and regional banks. Attendees included senior gures from the Bank of England, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and HM Treasury.

Community Development Finance Association : CFDA Innovation Awards

Community Development Finance Association (CDFA) is an association body for community development nance institutions. In the last year alone, their members have made over 180million of loans to over 23,000 individuals and enterprises who struggle to access nance from other sources or are vulnerable to high interest and illegal lenders. The event was supported by nancial institutions including Royal Bank of Scotland and Barclays with attendees from senior gures in the banking, social nance and social enterprise industries.

SHINE : UnConference for Social Entrepreneurs 2011
SHINE is an annual 3 day event of workshops, business clinics and lectures for socially minded entrepreneurs. The conference included various sessions throughout the Hub including marketing advice on how to use cost effective on and ofine marketing and promotional tools; EU funding landscapes and new forms of fund raising tools; business strategies for social enterprises; business pitching techniques and learning from social enterprises focused on ethnic minorities and migrant communities. Keynote speakers included Nick Hurd MP (Minister for Civil Society), Liam Black (Cofounder of Social Enterprise Coalition & Fifteen Foundation) and Dr. Pamela Hartigan (Executive Director of Skoll Centre at Oxford Universitys Said Business School & Founding Partner of Volans.)

Youth Business International : Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011

Youth Business International (YBI) is a global network of independent non-prot initiatives helping young people to start and grow their own business and create employment. and part of the Princes Trust. YBI hosted the evening launch of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011 UK at Hub Westminster to showcase young entrepreneurial talent. Keynote speakers included Peter Ibbetson (Chairman of Business Banking, Natwest & RBS) and Andrew Davenport (Chief Executive of Youth Business International).

Screw Business as Usual Richard Branson book launch
In November last year, Sir Richard Branson launched his new book "Screw Business as Usual" from Hub Westminster. The launch featured a host of people including a number of Virgin Media pioneers, who shared their stories about challenging business norms. Virgin are a key supporter of young entrepreneurs and the Hub Westminster was highly praised on the Virgin Pioneers page as an innovative menu with excellent food provided by our caterers.

Responsible Capitalism speech, UK press briefing by Rt Hon Prime Minister, David Cameron
In his highly anticipated speech on the economy, David Cameron highlighted the need for open and accessible enterprise to ensure that entrepreneurs and small business owners are free to participate. The PM chose Hub Westminster as a venue for his announcement. The Prime Minister said : The Hub is a brilliant innovation and it is great to be here to see it. An absolutely key facility for people who have a great idea who want to build it into something but cannot start in some fully edged ofce. I think this is a great idea for the government .... so we can help build this more entrepreneurial and socially entrepreneurial society that we all want to see.
