1. Life Coaching Science

This explosive growth in Life Coaching is due to the amazing results that are being achieved around the world by people and corporations applying coaching principals. 2. Positive Psychology
Positive psychology is a recent branch of psychology whose purpose was summed up in 2000 by Dr Martin Seligman (previous head of the APA) and Prof Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (Univ. of Chicago): 2|Page

"We believe that a psychology of positive human functioning will arise that achieves a scientific understanding and effective interventions to build thriving in individuals, families, and communities." In this section you will learn to: Find and nurture genius and talent Make normal life more fulfilling
The science of optimal human functioning, aka the science of flourishing, optimism, and strength, not simply to treat mental illness.

The training in this field is intended to complement, not to replace traditional psychology by coaching clients who are in a pre-pathology state and further enhance their wellbeing. By scientifically studying how things go right, rather than wrong this training will ensure you help achieve the renaissance of in psychological health care. In this course you can join the many researchers who have joined our positive psychology movement, generating influential and well-cited articles journals as part of your training.

2.1 Flow Theory


Proposed by Mihly Cskszentmihlyi, the concept has been widely referenced across a variety of fields from medicine, therapy, coaching, teaching and sport. You will learn how: a. Flow is the mental state of operation in which a person in an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity. b. According to Cskszentmihlyi, flow is completely focused motivation. i. It is a single-minded immersion and represents perhaps the ultimate in harnessing the emotions in the service of performing and learning. ii. In flow, the emotions are not just contained and channeled, but positive, energized, and aligned with the task at hand. iii. To be caught in the ennui of depression or the agitation of anxiety is to be barred from flow. iv. The hallmark of flow is a feeling of spontaneous joy, even rapture, while performing a task although flow is also described as a deep focus on nothing but the activity - not even oneself or one's emotions. c. Colloquial terms for this or similar mental states include: to be on the ball, in the moment, present, in the zone, wired in, in the groove, or keeping your head in the game.

2.2 ACTION Theory and the Action Model


You cannot change anything in your life with intention alone, which can become a watereddown, occasional hope that you'll get to tomorrow. Intention without action is useless. 3. The Science of Happiness


Over the last 50 years, the western world has become wealthier and healthier; however reported levels of happiness have actually fallen. In addition to this the number of reported suicides has increased, as has the incidence of depression. So seeking happiness misses the point. You will learn: 1. Key findings from the fields of neuroscience and psychology are referenced to inform study of the bio psychosocial keys to successful living; 2. Look at how individuals can create positive change by reinterpreting their goals and identifying steps toward a happy life experience; 3. Through lectures and discussions, learn about a variety of wellness topics that include mindfulness, relationships, and self-esteem. 4. The final project requires students to promote an area of mental wellness within a measurable environment. 5. Understand why and how to seek kindness instead of happiness.

4. Behavioural Medicine
The paradigm that medicine is tantamount to pharmacology is now defunct. In this section you will learn that: 1. Behavioural medicine is an interdisciplinary field of medicine concerned with the development and integration of knowledge in the a. biological, b. behavioural, c. psychological, d. business, e. coaching, and f. social sciences 2. This has relevance to performance health and illness. 3. The term is often used with health psychology, whereas the practice of behavioural medicine also includes applied psychophysiological therapies like: a. biofeedback, b. hypnosis, c. bio behavioural therapy of physical disorders, d. aspects of occupational therapy, e. rehabilitation medicine, and f. preventive and integrative medicine. Practitioners of behavioural medicine include appropriately qualified nurses, psychologists, and physicians, coaches, psychiatrists, teachers and paramedics.

4.1 Integral Psychology


Integral Theory is an area of discourse emerging from the theoretical psychology and philosophy of Ken Wilber a body of work that has evolved in phases from a transpersonal psychology. Researchers have also developed applications in areas such as leadership, coaching, teaching, organization human development. This course will teach clinicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to:
o the most comprehensive map available to coaches, psychologists and other healthcare professionals today.

Understand the how Western and non-Western understandings of consciousness are of synthesizing (this basically a merger of eastern and western models of psychology). Learn about the 4 quadrant model of the self and the subtle and causal models of the psyche Learn how to coach clients to be at cause Identify key relationships among the six core elements of Ken Wilber's Integral Model (6-AQAL map). Recognize the five main phases in the development of the Integral Model

5. Psychometrics
This course gives you an overview of psychometric testing and helps you understand testing in selection, career development and counselling. The course gives you an overview of psychometric testing and equips you with an understanding of the strengths, limitations and applications of testing in selection, career development and counselling. We explore the different contexts in which testing is used, the types of tests available, their suitability and applicability for particular purposes, and issues relating to administration and interpretation. By the end of this course you will be able to: Utilise a range of ability and personality tests Evaluate the role of tests in the selection and development process and their strengths and limitations Recognise the impact of testing through practical experience Benefit from a critical view of the suitability and desirability of testing in selection and development Note: This course does not register you as a Psychometrist but as a coach who employs Psychometrics like as HR practitioner would.

6. The Relaxation Response


6.1 Mindfulness Meditation
"The relaxation response is a physical state of deep rest that changes the physical and emotional responses to stress... and the opposite of the fight or flight response."- Herbert Benson, Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School. Mindfulness can be described as the moment-to-moment awareness of phenomena and experience, without the influence of distorted thinking, expectations, or desires. A second therapeutic purpose is the self-regulation of mental distress and emotional arousal through the development of a non-judgmental attitude and self-acceptance. Dr Herbert Benson of Harvard Medical School conducted a series of clinical tests on meditators from various disciplines: He published a book titled The Relaxation Response where he outlined his own version of meditation for relaxation and health. He also used biofeedback in an effort to understand deeper states of health and mind control.

You will learn how to: Mindfully engage the relaxation response for yourself; 6|Page

Mindfully engage the relaxation response in your clients ; Learn what helps and what stops this state from occurring; Understand the difference between yoga, hypnosis, prayer, mindfulness and quiet self-awareness;

6.2 Neuro & Biofeedback


Neuro & Biofeedback are processes that enables an individual to learn how to change neurological, emotinal and physiological activity for the purposes of improving health and performance. You will learn: 1. The Scientific Basis of Biofeedback 2. How biofeedback may be used to improve health or performance, and the psychophysiological changes often occur in conjunction with changes to thoughts, emotions, and behaviour. 3. How biofeedback has been found to be effective for the treatment of headaches and migraines, insomnia, heart disease, anxiety and many other stress related diseases 4. How is has also shown to be effective for improving problem solving, working memory and general performance. 5. Dr Kennedy was part of the NY research team who invented the award winning FDA cleared. The first hand held biofeedback device for measuring HRV, improving health, reducing stress and ensure peak psychological performance.

7. Cognitive behavioural therapy (or CBT)


CBT is a psychotherapeutic approach, a talking or coaching therapy that aims to solve problems concerning dysfunctional emotions, behaviours and cognitions through a goaloriented, systematic procedure. There is empirical evidence that CBT is effective for the treatment of a variety of problems, including: mood, anxiety, personality, eating, substance abuse, and psychotic disorders. You will learn specific technique-driven direct, and time-limited treatments to: Coach individuals as well as Group settings. Learn cognitive oriented (e.g. cognitive restructuring) skills As well as behaviourally oriented coaching (in vivo exposure therapy). Other interventions combine both (e.g. imaginary and exposure therapy) are included. Helping clients to in focus on the "here and now", and on alleviating symptoms. In the United Kingdom, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence recommends CBT as the treatment of choice for a number of mental health difficulties, including post-traumatic stress disorder, OCD, bulimia nervosa, and clinical depression.

7.1 Neuro linguistics


Neuro linguistics is the study of the neural mechanisms in the human brain that control the comprehension, production, and acquisition of language. You will learn: Neuro linguistics is an interdisciplinary field, which draws methodology and theory from fields such as neuroscience, linguistics, cognitive science, neurobiology, neuropsychology, and computer science. Understand how Neuro linguistics is informed by models in psycholinguistics and theoretical linguistics. Learn to investigate how the brain can implement processes that are necessary in producing and comprehending language. You will study the physiological mechanisms by which the brain processes information related to language, and evaluate linguistic and psycholinguistic theories, using aphasiology, brain imaging, electrophysiology, biofeedback and computer modelling.

7.2 Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP)


NLP is an approach to cognitive behavioural interventions, psychotherapy, coaching and organizational change based on "a model of interpersonal communication chiefly concerned with the relationship between successful patterns of behaviour and the subjective experiences (esp. patterns of thought) which underly them" and "NLP is a system of alternative therapy based on this which seeks to educate people in self-awareness and effective communication and to change their patterns of mental and emotional behaviour". You will learn how: The co-founders, Richard Bandler and linguist John Grinder, believed that NLP would be useful in "finding ways to help people have better, fuller and richer lives". Grinder claimed that if the effective patterns of behaviour of outstanding therapists (and other exceptional communicators) could be modeled then these patterns could be acquired by others. NLP has been adopted by coaches, psychotherapists, including hypnotherapists, who undertake training in NLP and apply it to their practice to improve skills of healthy thinking and living.

8. Facial & Emotional Analysis


As per the Fox TV programme you can now learn to understand, analyse, read and de-code emotions in others people expressions. In this section you will: Learn to Analyse and Read Faces just like the FBI.

Detect Lies and more in others from their micro expressions. Read Emotions before the other person is fully aware it themselves.

9. Hypnotherapy and Clinical Hypnosis


This program is designed to teach those with little or no hypnosis experience how to effectively help others make lasting positive changes with the power of hypnotic suggestion therapy. This intensive course moves at an accelerated pace, yet provides a solid foundation of clinical hypnosis practice, and includes hands-on hypnotic demonstration and experience. You WILL be able to hypnotize your clients for therapeutic purposes after completing this basic certification course.
