IMPLICATION OF EACH THEORY IN TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESS Each theory has its advantages and disadvantages when

we implemented them in school. The cognitive theory is the process of creating changes in behavior in the process of learning. It also implied that through past experiences pupils should be able to solve any problems given to them. Cognitive learning helps to boost and strengthened pupils past memories. For example, through the process of learning in schools pupils with previous experience of learning in their kindergarten or the preschool would not have any difficulty in recalling what they had learned. It will make the process of teaching and learning for the pupils easier. According to Piaget in cognitive learning there four stages of learning so it is essential for the benefit of pupils the process of teaching and learning should be in their respected stages too. By respect teacher should introduce any lesson according to the pupils ability and their development stages. This theory is widely used as it stress on the pupils development and how they develop. In behaviorism, learning is the changes of behavior where the changes are the response from all the stimulus that were introduced. Teacher who uses the behaviorism theory would provide the material for the process of teaching and learning based on hierarchy, from the simplest form to the complex. They should not be preaching only but should be able to give examples on what they are teaching. The outcomes should be measurable and pointed while all mistakes should be corrected. As we approached teaching and learning using the theory, we are also stressing the strategy of getting consequences when doing something. In lesson, pupils mind had the notion that if they did well they are going to be rewarded. If their result are bad or if they did something bad, they will also get the effect or the consequences.

With Pavlov and Watson, using the suitable stimulus in teaching and learning process will help the pupils to generalize and associate all other things with stimulus given. It is useful for pupils to recall things by associating and generalizing. This will helps to strengthened their memory. Thorndike helps pupils to be more alert and responsive during teaching and learning process. Pupils will try their hardest to be the best to get the positive outcomes of their work. This theory also appoints the teacher as the person in charge, the go to person. Pupils will tend to stick to the teacher during the process of teaching and learning thus will make them more dependable to the teacher. It also stressed on the pupils result and not the process of development. Social theory focus on learning that happens in the social content and how we learned among ourselves through observing. Children should be given the opportunity to observed and copy any models that the teacher find appropriate to follow. In teaching and learning process, a suitable and conducive environment should be allowed for the children. Through watching, observing and copying, pupils could learned something in the easiest and simplest way. Humanistic sees pupils as people with potential, highly motivated and have the ability to learn and prosper. It focus on how pupils could learned through their own awareness and power. By using this approach, teacher should allocate time to review each pupils potential and needs before proceed. Teacher had to treat the pupils as individual who have their own potential and they should be given exercise according to their potential and prepared them for their future.

REFLECTION

Our assignment for EDU 3103 or Learning and The Learner is to dive into the world of Behaviorist Theory of Learning. Through this assignment I have greater understanding of how to appropriately conduct my teaching and learning. I learned that we as teacher have unknowingly implementing some of the theory when we are at school. EDU 3103 is my favorite as I feel we were guided personally by Madam Periakka to be a good teacher by making us more aware and understand the knowledge of educating. Her enthusiastic and passion in guarding us to better appreciation of our profession by teaching us on how to approach our teaching and learning in school with better and more variety of techniques, theories and strategies.
