1.0 SCOPE

To remove the existing GE Make, 132kV Circuit Breaker and to install the new ABB Make, 132kV Circuit Breaker including necessary CRP modification, control and Power cable terminations etc in Marmul 132kV Substation. 2.0 REFERENCE 2.1. 2.2. 2.3. 2.4. 3.0 Manufacturers drawing and Installation manual. PDO Specifications. Existing construction drawing. Existing CRP & Bus Zone Panel Scheme Drawings.

PREPARATIONS 6.1. 6.2. 6.3. 6.4. 6.5. 6.6. 6.7. 6.8. Arrange sufficient Tools & Tackles and man power. Obtain EPTW permit after Electrical isolation. Ensure and Barricade the safe working area. Ensure that the crane and lifting tackles have got the valid inspection certificates and ensure that there is no damage prior to use. Ensure that correct equipment has been transported to site and inspect the same. Ensure that correct length & size of power and control cable is available at site. Establish a clear lifting operation plan and ensure all involved persons are understood the lifting plan. Conduct Tool box talk prior starting of work.

PRE SHUTDOWN ACTIVITIES 7.1. Ensure necessary cables between existing BMK (A-110) to control & Relay panel are laid and trenches back filled 7.2. All cables glanding completed and ready to insert in to the respective panels after shutdown.

8.0 SEQUENCE OF ACTIVITIES 8.1. Removal of Existing Breaker

a) Ensure DC and AC supply has been switched off. b) Dismantle and remove the existing jumpers from both side of circuit breaker Terminals. c) Remove the Power and control cable termination from CB as well as BMK Terminal Blocks. De gland the old cables and remove the same. d) Ensure that the hydraulic system is de-pressurized before proceeding the dismantling works. e) Remove all mechanical connection between pole, mechanism box and operation rod. f) Remove the existing breaker poles one by one and ensure that, sufficient safety distance is maintained (as per ESR) with adjacent live equipment while lifting operation to avoid any accident. g) Remove the accessories and clear the area. Pack the same and return to PDO Nimr stores. 8.2. Installation of New Breaker a) Ensure leveling and alignment of existing foundation mounting channel where the new CB will be installed. b) Remove the new breaker package and complete physical inspection and record the same. c) Ensure that the lifting tackles are attached at the right location to the equipment as per the manufacturer instruction manual. d) Install the breaker structures and accessories as per sequence provided by the manufacturer. e) Ensure that the weather condition is feasible for the lifting operation. f) Ensure that only one banks man gives direction to the crane operator to avoid confusion and safety distance has to be maintained while lifting with adjacent live equipments/line as per ESR. g) Tighten the fasteners as per torque limits provided by manufactures manual. h) Carry out the check points compliance s per the manufactures installation manual. 8.3. Cable Termination a) Remove the existing cables as per the cable schedule, cut the ends and label it as old unused cables and bury the same. b) Terminate the new cables as per the new cable schedule. 8.4. Testing and Commissioning 8.4.1. Breaker a) Fill the SF6 Gas as per manufacturer recommendation by the PDO approved Testing Engineer. b) Carry out the pre commissioning checks for the circuit breaker and control schemes as per the approved drawing. 8.4.2. CRP a) Ensure that the DC supply is switched off and do the necessary modifications as per modified approved scheme. b) After completion of modifications works, carry out the final checks on the system and ensure the Circuit Breaker is ready for commissioning.
