Decagon- A polygon with ten sides.

Isosceles triangle - A triangle with at least two congruent sides.

Polygon - A closed plane figure formed by three or more line segments that intersect only at their endpoints (vertices).

Octagon - An eightsided polygon.

Polyhedron - A threedimensional figure in which all the surfaces or faces are polygons.

Parallelogram - A quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides.

Right Triangle- A triangle containing a right angle.

Equilateral triangle- A triangle with three congruent sides.

Tetrahedron- A polyhedron with four faces.

Hexagon- A six-sided polygon.

Triangle- A three sides polygon.

Pentagon- A fivesided polygon.

Square- A rectangle with four congruent sides.

Triangular prism- A three dimensional figure with two congruent parallel triangular bases and whose other faces are rectangles

Type of Angles

Acute angle- Angles that are less than 90 degrees.

Angle-A figure formed by two rays with a common endpoint called the vertex.

Adjacent anglesAngles in the same plane that are side by side and have a common vertex and a common side.

Complementary angles- Two angles whose measures add to 90 degrees.

Congruent anglesAngles that have the same measure.

Obtuse angles- An angle whose measure is greater than 90 but less than 180.

Supplementary angles- Two angles whose measures have a sum of 180.

Right angle- An angle that measures 90.

Vertical angles- A pair of opposite angles formed by intersecting lines.

Straight angle- An angle that measure 180.

Diameter- A line segment that passes through the center of circle and has endpoints on the circle, or the length of that segment.

Line segment- A part of a line between two endpoints.

Perpendicular linesLines that intersect to form right angles.

Intersecting linesLines that cross at exactly one point.

Point- An exact location in place.

Radius- A line segment with one endpoint at the center of the circle and the other endpoint on the circle, or the length of that segment.

Segment- a part of a line between two endpoints.

Vertex (of an angle)The common endpoint of the sides of the angle.

Ray- A part of the line that starts at one endpoint and extends forever.

Bisect- To divide into 2 congruent parts.

Degree- The unit of measure for angles or temperature.

Circumference- The distance around the circle.

Pi- () The ratio of the circumference of a circle to the length of the diameter; 3.14 or 22/7.

Compass- An instrument with two arms, one sharp and one with a pencil that can be used to draw circles or arcs.

Protractor- A tool for measuring angles.
