How To Graph A Parabola

How To Graph A Parabola In the fields of mathematics, a parabola is the conic section that is made when right circular conical surface and a plane that is parallel to a generating line of that surface are intersects. There is another method by which we can create the parabola. This method states that first of all check the point i.e. focus point and a line i.e. directrix on a plane. Then in that plane there will be locus of point that will be placed on the equidistant from both the line and that point is a parabola. If we intersect a right circular cone and a plane which is also parallel to an element of the cone and the locus points of cone is equidistance from a fixed point then we get a plane curve and that curve is known as a parabola. And in other word a parabola is a plane curve generated by the rounding a point which is fixed distance form a fixed point and is also equal to the distance form a fixed line is said to be a parabola. And parabola is also follows the properties of a hyperbola.

Lets take a look on the steps of parabola that will help you to understand How to Graph a Parabola. Step1: To plot a parabola first we have to take a line segment. Step2: After that it is essential to draw the focal point. Step3: After that if we require the vertex of a line then we intersect the distance between a line and focal point. Step4: After that if we need vertex then intersect the distance that is measure in between line and focal point. Step5: After then we can make vertical lines of any distance apart. Step6: Then we measure the distance from line segment to the point. Step7: Then after we measure the distance from line segment to the other point and we will do this same procedure till the last point. Step8: We draw the point from the line segment. Step9: At last we have to join all the points and we get parabola. The above graph is the vertical graph of parabola but we can make the horizontal graph of the parabola. So below is the general form of parabola: The general form is:

( u + v)2 + u + v + = 0; We get the above equation from the general conic equation that is detailed below: A u2 + B uv + C v2 + D u + E v + F = 0; And the equations for a general form of parabola with the focus point F(u, v) and a line segment in the form: u a + v y + c = 0; is (u a + v y + c)2 / U2 + V2 = (u p)2 + (u v) 2 The above equation is the parabola equation. Parabola is used in various fields such as physics, engineering and many more fields. Generally three types of symmetry may come in parabola that are x-axis, y axis and origin symmetry.
