Aug. 4, Sat.-Resounding Joy! A free concert to benefit No Longer Alone Ministries, 7 p.m. at LMS Fine Arts Center. See poster on the bulletin board in the narthex for more information. Aug. 4, Sat.-7 p.m.- Outdoor Gospel Concert at Woodcrest Retreat. The groups "CrossOver" and "Good News" will be sharing an evening of great gospel music. A freewill offering will benefit the Children's Summer Camp. Bring lawn chairs. Chicken BBQ meal served from 4-6 p.m. Call 738-2233 to reserve $8 meal tickets. Concert will be held indoors in the event of inclement weather. Aug. 5, Sun.-Will be our regular, first-Sunday of the month fellowship meal, also you can sign-up to help serve on the small whiteboard on the refrigerator in the church kitchen. Aug. 15-18-Choose from over 40,000 used books at Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society during its annual "Bookworm Frolic." Food, magazines and music are also for sale, and new books are sold at steep discounts. Prices drop more each day. Aug. 15-17, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Aug. 18, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at 2215 Millstream Road, Lancaster (on Lincoln Highway East near the Tanger Outlets). -Please check the table in the narthex for a sign up sheet for meals for the Lester Leid family. -As in past years August is our month to provide groceries and Tuesday evening Bible study for the residents of Freedom Gate. If you would be willing to help with either of these or would like to go along to deliver the groceries and participate in the Bible study please sign up on the sheet on the table in the narthex. Freedom Gate is a Christ-centered half-way house which provides a rehabilitative and supportive home environment for ex-convicts seeking to rebuild lives and relationships through Christ.
