GARY DELONG

Gary DeLong would be dangerous for seniors. He has called for cuts to Social Security and Medicare, and even proposed increasing retirement ages and payroll contributions to social security. Meanwhile, DeLong has no new ideas. The Contra Costa Times reported DeLong subscribes to a boilerplate Republican philosophy, while the Press Telegram called on the would-be Congressman to actually study the issues instead of parroting the standard GOP lines.

No New Ideas
Editorial: DeLong Urged to Do Homework on Issues Instead of Relying on GOP Talking Points. In an editorial by the Long Beach Press-Telegram, DeLong is endorsed but receives some heavy criticisms But this endorsement comes with a caveat: DeLong must do his homework before the general election in November. In an editorial board meeting last week, he relied too often on talking points instead of concrete proposals. To get this endorsement in the general election, DeLong needs to buckle down and study the issues, so he's not just parroting the standard GOP lines on the deficit and taxes. [Press Telegram Editorial, 5/17/12] DeLongs Philosophy Called Republican Boilerplate. According to Contra Costa Times, After an eight-year absence, Kuykendall said he has thrown his hat back into the political ring to help get the economy clicking again. We have to back off these darn regulations, we have to quit dreaming about new taxation for the time being, he said. Its a boilerplate Republican philosophy that DeLong, 52, also gets behind. The owner of a telecommunications consulting firm, DeLong was

first elected to Long Beach City Council in 2006. He is now in his second term. [Contra Costa Times, 5/19/12]
