You understand our weaknesses. In the peace of this moment, we confess our sins - those known to others and those known only by you - trusting in your grace and seeking your forgiveness. We have not lived as you would have us live. Holy God, forgive us. Grant us the strength to live as Christ would have us live. This we ask in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

School SuppliesThe Berkeley UMW school supply drive is ongoing through August 12. A collection box with supply lists is located in the narthex. We are collecting the following for Cunningham and Widen Elementary Schools: Cunningham: Back packs Composition notebooks (approx. 8" x 10", 60-100 sheets, black marble or black and white) Colored pencils Zip pencil bags Folders with brads Widen: Underwear for boys and girls, sizes 4 thru size 16 Socks Navy or gold polo shirts, sizes 4-16 Back packs Plastic folders, any color UMYF PotluckAll are invited to a UM Youth Fellowship potluck this evening at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. They will share highlights of their summer activities and mission trip. Farewell to Katie FrederickOur pastoral intern, Katie Frederick, completes her Supervised Practice of Ministry at Berkeley on August 16. Sunday, August 12, is her last Sunday. Between worship services next Sunday, please stop by the reception on the patio for Katie and her husband, Greg. Let her know your appreciation for her leadership this summer, particularly for the summer intergenerational mission trip in July. Katie will complete her course work at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in December and graduate in May 2013. We pray Gods continued blessings on her life and her ministry journey. Blessing of the BackpacksNext Sunday all are invited to bring backpacks to the 10:50 a.m. worship service. We will ask Gods blessing and guidance for our students, their teachers and all of our BUMC educators as a new school year begins. We will also offer a blessing for the school supplies donated for Cunningham and Widen Elementary Schools.
