PREFACE
This Standard was prepared by the Standards Australia Committee on Small Tools. It is one of a
series of three Standards for hand hammers. The other Standards in the series deal with specific
requirements for heavy hand hammers and for light hand hammers.
In the preparation of this Standard, consideration was given to BS 876, Hand hammers, and
ANSI B173.3, Safety requirements for heavy striking tools, and acknowledgment is made of the
assistance therefrom.
