Program Objectives
During this 2 day program, participants will learn the fundamentals of the LNG business value chain. This includes understanding the dynamics of the international LNG market covering the pricing mechanisms, regional and global market drivers, and the behavior of importing and exporting countries, LNG trade flows, Asian LNG market and indexation mechanisms, various kinds of contracting structure, detailed understanding of derivatives and arbitrage opportunities. The learning format is a combination of lectures, class discussion and a simulating LNG business game. The benefit of this course is that the participants will understand the integrities of the LNG business in a challenging and interactive way, whichwill facilitate the participants in their endeavor to do LNG business.

Workshop Methodology
This intensive program has a lecture/workshop format. Through an innovative workshop and simulation exercise, participants, working in teams, make the real-life decisions that confront managers in the international LNG business today.
Core Faculty
Carlos Barberan Carlos is currently the LNG Services Leader at AFMERCADOS EMI. He was previously working in ESSENT TRADING as Origination and LNG Trading Manager & has more than 14 years of experience in the natural gas and LNG.He was also the CEO of Gaz de France in Spain for more than 7 years. Together with a partner, Carlos have conducted several studies on the behavior of all utilities in Spain and Europe linked to their supply contracts and arbitrages spot Gas-Gas and Gas-Power (global LNG and NG value chain). Carlos has successfully closed a deal for LNG import with one of the major player in India. Anish De Anish De is the CEO of AF-Mercados EMI Asia in New Delhi. He has over 16 years of experience in energy sector in India specializing in market design, reforms and policy issues in the sector. He has extensively worked in national and international markets including India, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Spain, Bangladesh, and Nepal. He has also provided assistance on various gas sector assignments covering a wide range of issues from changing market structure, promoting competition, promoting efficiency to increasing regulatory certainty, tariff charges, Advisory on LNG imports and LNG re-gasification terminal siting etc.Anish has successfully closed a deal for LNG import with one of the major player in India.He was the Project Manager for the Advisory Project for the proposed India-Iran-Pipeline project where he represented the consortium of GAIL, IOCL and the Govt. of India.He has been involved in the natural gas price pooling initiative of Government of India and has advised the Ministry on the tenable options for natural gas price pooling.

S. Ravishankar S. Ravishankar is an experienced Energy Sector Professional, with more than 25 years of experience, spanning the functional areas of Business Strategy, Marketing, Business Development and Project Execution in the Gas & Power and Petrochemicals domain. He is currently working as Senior Vice President Business Development & Strategy in Reliance Power Ltd and as Director in two upstream subsidiaries of Reliance Power group. He heads the Business Development of Gas based Power projects including Gas and LNG Sourcing, FSRU Project Development, Business Planning and Execution of Upstream Projects and Gas Sector Regulatory affairs. He has also worked as Head of CMDs office and in other senior positions in GAIL India Ltd. During his career, Ravishankar has been involved in a number of LNG and Gas Sourcing Assignments and concluded a number of Master Sale and Purchase Agreements and Framework Gas Supply Agreements with Multinational companies. He was also part of the team from GAIL that negotiated the first spot LNG cargo shipment into India. He has also spearheaded the Long Term Strategic Plan of GAIL entailing an investment of Rs 40,000 cr covering five major pipeline projects and petrochemicals expansion. Ravishankar holds a post graduate degree in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has extensively traveled abroad on business assignments and has been a speaker in energy sector conferences in India and abroad.
