HOLY COMMUNION is open to all Christians. The Bible says A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. (I Cor. 11:28). We take that to mean that the only test before coming to communion is that of selfexamination. If you have accepted Christ as Savior and Lord and intend to live the new life in obedience to God you may partake with us. This table is not the Cumberland Presbyterian table. It is the Lords Table. He wants all His children to come eat and drink with Him and with each other.

No food or beverages in the sanctuary, please. If you arrived as a visitor we hope that you leave as a friend and worship with us often! celebration, we will be having a church-wide yard sale. If you have anything that is gently used that you would like to donate, please bring it to the church to place in the fellowship hall. We will announce the date for the yard sale soon. Dinner on the Grounds: immediately following the worship service on September 16 (the anniversary celebration day) we will eat lunch outside. There will be no charge for this meal, but we are asking that donations be made and will have a place for people to drop their cash or checks. This will be a full afternoon of activities with live music, folks in period costumes, livestock, contests such as lumberjack and pie baking and many other activities that would have been going on in 1812. Please call the church with any ideas you may have for the celebration or to volunteer to help on the day of the event. New Hope Choir Led by Ben, the New Hope choir is more than just a choir. It is a small group that meets on Sunday evenings to, yes, practice some songs, but also to fellowship, express concerns, reflect on a devotional together and pray for one another. Those in the choir are blessed to be in it together. Join the choir and find out why! They meet every Sunday evening at 6:00. Stephen Ministry is a program that selects and trains laypeople for Christian care giving. Stephen Ministers in our church are certified and trained to help people go through the many transitions and challenges in life. Our Stephen Ministers serve anyone in need, both within and outside the church. Call the church office if you are interested in receiving care through the Stephen Ministry program. It will be a fun night with blessings thrown in so make plans to come back tonight! th 200 Anniversary Committees (both sub-committees) will meet this Wednesday evening at 6:00. th 200 Anniversary Committee Notes The Bicentennial Committees met together last Wednesday night and had a productive session. Time Capsule: We are working on a time capsule. Each Sunday School Class will be asked to come up with something to contribute. (Funny) Thought for the Week

There was this Christian lady that had to do a lot of traveling for her business, so she did a lot of flying. Flying made her nervous, so she always took her Bible along with her to read and it helped relax her. One time, she was sitting next to a man. When he saw her pull out her Bible, he gave a little chuckle and went back to what he was doing. After awhile, he turned to her and asked, You dont really believe all that stuff in there do you? The lady replied, Of course I do. It is the Bible. He said, Well, what about that guy that was swallowed by that whale? She replied, Oh, Jonah. Yes, I believe that, it is in the Bible. He asked, Well, how do you suppose he survived all that time inside the whale? The lady said, Well, I dont really know. I guess when I get to heaven, I will ask him. What if he isnt in heaven? the man asked sarcastically. Then you can ask him. replied the lady.
