Industrial Visit Coca Cola August 4, 2012: Kolkata Coca Cola states that "Every person who drinks

s a Coca Cola enjoys a moment of refreshment Coca-Cola and shares an experience that millions of others have savored." There is no denial of the fact that all of these individual experiences combined have created a worldwide phenomenon a truly global brand. And indeed, it was this global brand, that members of GBS Yi Yi-Net had an opportunity to get up close with, when they got a chance to visit the plant of Diamond se Beverages Pvt. Ltd., an independent franchisee of Coca Cola India. This plant is responsible for the manufacture, sale and distribution of beverages in the Eastern India, focusing mostly at Kolkata and its outskirts; and that explains the enormity and size of the production facility ata available at the plant. Coca Cola, serves in India some of the most recalled brands from across recalled the world and nationally, including names such as Coca Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Thums Coke, Up, Limca, Maaza and Kinley (packaged drinking water), with the Minute Maid being the latest brand flaunted by the company. The industrial visit to the Coke plant at Taratala, Kolkata was an enriching experience for the fifteen members of GBS Yi-Net, accompanied by Mr. Rabindra , Tatia, GBS Yi-Net Guide and Ms. Arpita Chowdhury, GBS Yi Net Faculty Guide. The attendees Net Yi-Net Guide got to understand the entire process of bottling and how a Mega plant works to maintain its Mega-plant large outputs of tens of thousands of bottles a day. On reaching the plant at 10:30AM, we were bottles greeted by Ms. Nawiz Khan, the HR executive at the training room for the initial briefing. From there we were taken to the processing unit by the Plant in charge where all the stages from in-charge cleaning to the final crowning (of glass bottles) and from blow molding to capping (of PET e bottles) of Thums Up and Maaza were seen, respectively. All of us visiting the plant, were aaza us, amazed at the speed at which the process occurred and how the automated systems could be set according to requirements, as majority of human intervention was only required during nts, loading and unloading of the bottle crates and while conducting the random quality checks. The GBS Yi-Net members were also taken to see the Rain Water Harvesting Plant setup by Coke Net when asked about the companys CSR initiatives. This was followed by a brief presentation by companys the Quality in-charge at the plant about the history of Coca Cola and its products. Following the charge presentation, the three representatives interacted with the members and answered all queries regarding the Soft Drink industry along with those about the manufacturing and branding of stry Coke and its products. Mr. Arnab Majumdar, the General Manager of Diamond Beverages also spared couple of minutes from his busy schedule to interact with the members. On the whole, members it was an exemplary learning experience that the members of GBS Yi-Net will savor for a long time to come.
