YOUR QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

"I have found some old film. Can you process it and is it worth it?" Yes. We specialise in all types of old film. Dont worry if you are unsure what film type you have, we can still help. "Will the pictures come out ?" There is a very good chance, but much can depend upon how old the film is and how it has been stored. It can also be tricky to tell if some film has even been used. Almost all exposed films will yield images, but there may be some deterioration, due to a number of factors: Colour dyes can weaken over time Heat or natural radiation can fog films Dampness can cause a blotchy effect The film can become brittle Contrast can often be reduced Roll film can stick to the backing paper

SERVICES FOR OLD FILMS, NEGATIVES AND SLIDES

We offer a specialist service for old and out-of-date films, perhaps found in old cameras or given to you by friends or relatives. We can scan almost any format of negative, slide, or photographic print, and restore old deteriorated images for printing or CD storage. The films we receive have usually not been made for many years and require different handling to those used today. Film undergoes highly specialised treatments simply unavailable elsewhere. We offer a professional and expert service to help recover your lost memories - you can be assured that our years of experience will help get the best results possible from your old film, slides, negatives or photographs. We have recovered good images from film dating back as far as the 1920s, and recently a stunning set of pre-war colour photographs from a roll of Dufaycolor film.

We use special treatments which help counteract the effect of ageing, but our aim is always the recovery of the actual image, whatever the condition. We are very proud of our success with old film. OUR
CURRENT IMAGE RECOVERY RATE IS ABOVE 97% FOR ALL FILM RECEIVED.

How do you get the results? We know exactly how to deal with any given old film or negative, what to do and what will produce the best results. We are always improving our methods to get once-lost images appear much closer to how they would have looked. "Cant I take my old film or negatives to a local one-hour lab?" Old film, even if using a current process, requires specialist care and attention. Regular labs don't have the expertise for this type of restoration work, and precious images may be lost forever. Handling old film is a very specialist job and best left to the experts. "Can you make prints or a CD?" Certainly. We firstly concentrate on careful film processing. We then use a powerful scanner to convert film images to digital files for restoration. We can store the final images on a CD or make traditional prints, whichever you prefer.

If YOU have it, WE can process it!

"How long will it take?" With our Standard Service, a turnaround time is estimated but not guaranteed, as film is dealt with in small batches around 2-3 times per year. It's important to know that some services can take many months. We can offer a faster turnaround for some film types, although at a premium price : Express Service : +100% surcharge (Guaranteed turnaround within 30 days) Express Priority : +200% surcharge (Guaranteed turnaround within 10 days) Both services by prior arrangement only. Express Services are not available for certain film types (such as 8mm Cine film)

We can scan any shape or size of print, negative or slide up to around 12"x8".

"Is there a guarantee or refund if nothing comes out ?"

Unfortunately no refund of the processing charge is available, although pre-paid printing charges are refunded in the event of film failure. The hand-prepared components and methods are complex and timeconsuming. If your order is unsuccessful, we return it safely with a detailed report. Our guarantee is that we will do all we can to recover your memories. "What do I get for my money ?" Your film will be handled with the utmost care and attention, along with a friendly and personal service. We are specialists in photographic film recovery and promise to do our very best for you!

POSTING YOUR FILM TO US

Always use secure packaging, such as a jiffy bag - paper envelopes are not suitable for films. Please ensure that the package is sealed properly. Secure the roll with an elastic band if it looks fragile or if the sealing tab is loose.
