Focus Areas

The purpose of a work permit system is to ensure that:

Jobs are safely planned / Work is safely executed. Equipment is properly prepared and Employees are adequately informed

The responsibility of safety is shared by all involved covered by the work permit system.

Work Permit System

Systems, Equipment, Devices which:

Prevent a major process accident Mitigate the results of a loss of containment Prevent injury or death to human beings All plant equipment which contain hazardous liquid in sufficient amounts

Examples

Safety Critical Systems

SC devices / systems are in service at all times except:

Preventive Maintenance Transmitters / Devices Malfunction or Calibration Startup, Shutdown or Load Reduction Routine Changeovers etc. Testing or Other Activities
