: Formative evaluation for pupils after teaching reading and writing time is an activity of testing and measuring pupils strengths and weakness in mastering certain skills which they have learned during a certain period of time.The tests are usually conducted in an informal way such as through observation, quiz, exercise, homework, coursework, oral, etc.Listen for student responses during whole-class questioning.

Step 1 ( 15 minutes)

Read and writing time

1) Explain to pupils how the time is written in


the 24-hour system. 2) Explain that the 24 hour system is another way of writing time without using a.m. or p.m.

3) Ask them if they know of what other agencies that use the 24-hour system (shipping industries, army)

Step 2 ( 10 minutes) Example : Write the time in word. 0100 hrs 0015 hrs 0900 hrs

1) Teacher writes the time in numerals on the whiteboard.


2) Pupils write it in words and read it.

Step 3 ( 10 minutes) 0020 hrs 2330 hrs

1) Pupils work in pairs. 2) Teacher provides time cards written in numerals and in words. 3) The first pupil holds the numeral card and the partner reads the time aloud and writes it in words.
