The pump shall be suitable for continuous operation and it shall be new. Pump model shall be identical or similar to other pumps, which the manufacturer regularly produces. Unless specific approval is obtained from BUYER the impeller diameter of pump shall not be greater than 90 percent of the maximum impeller diameter. Normally, minimum diameter of impellers shall not be used. Shaft sleeves are required for pumps having conventional packing. Shaft sleeves shall extend beyond the outer face of the packing gland. Unless special approval is obtained from the BUYER, the pump shall be capable of 5% increase or decrease in head at the rated capacity by installing a new impeller. Pump shall have stable head/capacity curves, which continuously rise to shut off from the rated capacity point. The pump head at shutoff shall be at least 105% but not more than 120% of the head at the rated capacity point. Rated flow shall be within the region of 80 % to 110 % of best efficiency flow rate of the pump as furnished. Pump shall be capable of operating at 110% of rated flow without exceeding the specified available NPSH. The maximum allowable working pressure (M.A.W.P.) for the pump casing and the discharge pipe shall be greater than the shut off head with the maximum diameter impeller, pumping water and maximum liquid level in the tank. Wear rings are required for pumps with closed type impellers. Both casing and impeller wear rings are preferred. A casing wear ring is required as a minimum. The impeller shall be secured to the pump shaft by a cap screw or cap nut that does not expose shaft threads and shall be retained against circumferential movement by keying. The shaft shall be one piece from the coupling to the impeller, designed for the highest expected torque. The SELLER shall supply, shop mount, align, and be responsible for all horizontal drive components. All horizontal drive components shall be fitted to the pump in the shop, aligned and match marked prior to being shipped. 4.2 Materials of Construction

Casing and impeller materials shall be as specified on the Data Sheets. Brazed or welded repairs on ductile iron parts shall not be accepted. The SELLER shall notify the BUYER of all plugged repairs on iron or major weld repairs on stainless steel parts.
