The name of our cabin, Philippi, was based off of a letter that Paul wrote to the Philippians and the Church of Philippi. This letter was one of the shortest that Paul wrote, but it was filled with thankfulness to the Philippians for their love. In his letter, Paul also urges the people to become more like Christ or to become more one with the Lord. Other main topics that Paul touched on in his letter are the importance of prayer, friendship, and love for one another. Our cabin read through these topics as Paul wrote them and discussed them throughout the week. The girls, as well as the counselors in our cabin were nothing short of energetic, entertaining, and downright fun! I thank God for these ladies and girls who helped teach me this week, as I learned right along with them. I was so blessed! -Maggie Banks

Campers, Counselors, & Friends~ You all are such a blessing to me. I love to lead you all in worship every year. It is such a humbling experience for me to stand in front of you all and listen as you sing praises to our King! There's nowhere I'd rather be than standing right there before each of you as we give God our worries, struggles, & fears. You guys have all blessed me tremendously! I pray that you will never forget to praise Him, like we do at camp, every single day of the year. And remember, throughout the year, when you don't think you can take another step, He's standing there arms open wide! He will be ready to embrace you in His arms. Teachers: TR & Lisa Mahaffey Our class was based around love, dating, and relationships. In our class we had Allie Perry, Lacy Keith, Kaylee Lane, Katlynn Gremling, Emily Fouch, Santanna Masters, Morgan Corkrean, Lacey Holderby, Tyler Boschert & Ben Standifer. We discussed all the different traits that we must look for in a healthy relationship that revolves around God. Our main biblical focus was around the story of Ruth & Boaz and how that is how a Godly relationship should always be. We focused on how you should not give up your morals or lower your standards for anyone. God must be first in any relationship and we must choose him first. We all had a great time in this class and all learned an abundance of information. We will all be able to go home with a head and heart full of knowledge that will help us in our relationships and our closer walk with the Lord.

Teachers: Ben & Laura Banks We were taught good pointers on "Defending your Faith." Ben taught us to always begin the discussion with a question so that way you throw the ball into their court. Some questions he told us to use were, "What do you mean?", and "How do you know?" We were taught also not to be arrogant and treat everyone equal, don't scare them off! Also he taught us when people pull the ole "If there was such a God why would he let bad things happen?" With the way Atheist believe there is no God, so who determines good and evil? With the way they believe their system is built on power and weakness/survival of the fittest. So there is some central message that everyone has followed, when determining whats good and what is evil. Also the only way to prove that there is a God is by faith alone! A lot of people bash faith. Well don't you use it every day? For instance when you sit down don't you have faith in the chair that it will hold you, don't you? Also our class talked about the Evolution Theory and the Intelligent Design. In Science for something to be proven you have to observe it or it has to be able to reproduce. Well with Evolution no one can observe it because it was 100's of years ago and it doesn't reproduce. We also talked about the origin of life! The world looks like it was built with engineering, like its designed. As if God created it with age so no one could know just how old the Earth is! There are also "Fine Tuning Arguments." Like "Our location in the solar system, if we were 1% closer our oceans would evaporate, if were 5% further our oceans would freeze over." There are many more arguments if you are interested get in touch with Ben! This was our class! I have to say I enjoyed this class very much because taking real life situations and teaching us how to handle them in the Christian way will help us to better our Christ like walk, and show us a wonderful way to spread our light to others! Its been an honor and a privilege to serve as camp director this year. We had a wonderful staff and a great group of kids. The Lord was present in everything from our services to messy games. I feel like I have learned as much, if not more than the kids this year. Its been a blessing to serve and learn from each of you.
