2- Problem: One case from the field has been reported where incorrect battery temperature alarms are reported during a SAT (site acceptance test). The alarms may occur under the following conditions:
Battery operation with full load connected to output. After 3-5 minutes of discharge (battery operation)

The problem has been established to be the physical position of thermistor on the PCB 6404104F-Z implemented in SYBTU1-PLP & SYBTU2-PLP during year 2009. The alarm is reported as a warning and will not affect the operating condition of the UPS. The system will continue to support the load in battery operation.

3- Solution: A rework of the battery module has been implemented from serial number PD1017xxxxxx. In case the temperature alarm is reported in the affected serial number range listed below the battery module needs to be replaced with a battery module outside the affected range or with a refurbished module labelled with RIN650. The battery modules only have to be replaced in systems where the incorrect temperature alarms have been observed. No proactive measures have to be initiated. List of serial numbers
Not affected serial # Affected serial # Not affected serial # SYBTU1-PLP All up to From: PD0939xxxxxx PD1018xxxxxx ---PD0938xxxxxx To: PD1017xxxxxx and up SYBTU2-PLP All up to From: PD0940xxxxxx PD1018xxxxxx ---PD0939xxxxxx To: PD1017xxxxxx and up SYBTJU1-PLP All up to From PD0951xxxxxx PD1013xxxxxx ---PD1001xxxxxx To: PD1012xxxxxx and up SYBTJU2-PLP All up to From PD0945xxxxxx PD1014xxxxxx ---PD0944xxxxxx To: PD1013xxxxxx and up Note: Replacement to be done with Green numbers only. Red numbers only good if labelled with RIN650.

Please note that any test with load bank , e.g Site Acceptance Test (SAT) is preferred to be conducted with battery modules outside the affected serial number range to avoid the incorrect temperature warning to be displayed.
