An online shop cannot offer touch, smell or feel, so the images, descriptions and videos need to be of outstanding quality to turn shop visitors into customers. The virtual shop is first being judged by the way it visually presents itself and the information it provides. A flawless shop is the preliminary to making fans aware of the products and tempting them with regular advertisements and unbeatable deals. Imagine yourself entering an online shop. What would you like to see? More than likely, you would like to be greeted by high quality images, that allow you a complete view of the product you would like to purchase, to make up for the lack of being able to hold it in your hands and twist and turn it in all imaginable ways. Dimensions & Size

To offer high quality make sure your product images have the proper format: jpg, .png or .gif (.png offers best results). Their maximum size should be 2 MB and their minimum width 810 pixels (height proportional to width).

Up to 4 Images

The Ondango shop allows you to upload up to 4 product images. Use this and make sure your customers get product views from different angles and close ups.

1 Video

Videos offer a further insight into the product, the brand or the company. It can show a catwalk, the production, the ethics behind the brand, etc. The video can be about detailed visual representation or sales. In either case, make sure to use the embed codes (i.e. YouTube or Vimeo), not the URLs.

Descriptions & Variations


The product description is the next thing your potential customers will look at. It needs to make the sale after the images have drawn the visitors in. Here are some tips how to make this happen:

Use enticing, image-orientated words and detailed descriptions, that do not bore. Getting this balance right is important.

Use bullet points to shorten text and to convey important facts. White space can be used to break up longer texts into topical sections.

Offer up to 2 variations, that customers can choose their preferred product combinations from. This is easily done when you set up products: Products > Socks & Variations > Product with many variations.

Have the texts proofread. The three most unprofessional and off-putting things in the world of e-commerce are low quality product images, grammar mistakes and spelling mistakes!

Daily Deals, Fan Discount & Discount Coupons


Regular marketing is an important part of a Facebook shop and Ondango has integrated features to support you in this. We have put particular emphasis on discount features to draw fans into your shop and offer the special deal they cannot get anywhere else.

Daily Deals

Visually emphasize your discounts by turning them into Daily Deals (Products (edit or new) > Daily Deal). Use this as a regular feature of your shop and get your fans used to Friday Daily Deals or weekend deals.

Fan Discount

The Fan discount feature allows you to offer fan-only price reductions. Use this feature to push the marketing of your shop (Shop details > Shop features > Fan discount).

Coupon Discount

Regularly use coupon discounts in your shop or to monitor traffic through alternative channels, i.e. Twitter or e-mail marketing (Shop details > Shop features > Coupon discount).

Making the shopping experience as easy and as comfortable as possible for the customers should be the goal of every shop owner, in the brick-and-mortar world as well as online. There are a few extra features in Ondango you can use to achieve this. This also includes making advertisement as easy as possible for you.

Help your shop visitors to find their way around your products. Set up categories under Categories > Add new category. After that, assign a category to each product: Products > Product details > Categories.

Granular Shipping

You want to offer international shipping at varying prices? Simply set this up under Products > Shipping > Untick Use global shipping settings > Untick Digital good.

Facebook Publisher

Create easy and fast product promotions from within your Ondango user account. Post the presentation directly to your Timeline and into your fans news feeds.
