Admissions Requirement
Eighteen years degree or MS in any discipline with a Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 out of 4. The candidate will be required to pass GAT subject test (http://www.nts.org.pk/GAT/GatSubject.asp) with minimum 60% marks or In the case of GRE Subject test, the minimum requirement will be 60% marks

Doctoral Thesis
Interactive class discussions, case studies, simulations, research articles, experiential exercises, writing term papers, decision making, brain storming, presentations and other innovative teaching techniques are a hallmark of SBE PhD MGT Program.
Thesis write-up will start after approval of the research proposal by the PhD committee. Final doctoral thesis as per HEC policy is sent abroad for evaluation from two foreign experts. On the basis of the Evaluation Report by foreign experts the candidate will be required to take a viva examination. The examiners will include external and internal examiner and where possible, the foreign experts who evaluated the written thesis. All scholars are required to publish a scholarly paper in an HEC recognized journal for the award of PhD degree.

World-Class Faculty
Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad
PhD, University of Wales, UK Rector UMT and Professor Prof. Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad is PhD from University of Wales, UK and has been the founding chairman of Association of Management Development Institutions of Pakistan (AMDIP) from 2002 to 2006. He has also been a member of the Executive Board of Asia Academy of Management, Hong Kong and has also served as founder member of board of Tricastmedia, an international mobile software technology enterprise. He was awarded membership of Beta Sigma Delta, the National Honorary Society of Business and Economics of USA and was also awarded Best Faculty Award by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, 1992. He is the Founder member of Board of ILM Trust, and is currently serving as Rector of the University of Management and Technology, Lahore.

Dr. Sarwar M. Azhar


PhD, University of Nottingham, UK Professor Dr. Sarwar M. Azhar has over 35 years combined experience as a practicing manager and academician in the field of management and marketing. He did his PhD from the Nottingham University, UK. He has been the Editor-in-Chief of the South Asian Journal of Management Science for three years and has published his research in national and international journals. He has been a successful trainer in the areas of competitive strategy and corporate policy. He has also supervised a number of theses at the postgraduate level.

Dr. Rukhsana Kalim


PhD, University of Glasgow, UK Professor and Associate Dean, Research - PhD Program Dr. Rukhsana Kalim has 29 years of teaching and administrative experience in both public and private universities. She has published and presented many research papers on national and international levels. Dr. Rukhsana has supervised a number of MPhil and PhD theses. She is the member of Pakistan Society of Development Economics (PSDE), Islamic Society of Statistical Sciences (ISOSS) and Council of Social Sciences (COSS).

Dr. A. Rashid Kausar


PhD, Michigan State University, USA Professor and Head QEC Director IAS Management Dr. A. R. Kausar is a PhD from Michigan State University, USA and is a Professor of Knowledge Management. He has served as Dean ILM, Dean SBE, Director General, International Linkages and as Director, Centre for Emerging Sciences at various universities. He has conducted more than 700 Seminars, Trainings and Workshops in Pakistan and globally and has published research papers in various journals of Pakistan, USA, Canada, UK, Australia and India. He is the Member Editorial Board for the International Journal of Knowledge Based Development.

Dr. Ahmed Faisal Imtiaz Siddiqi


PhD, Govt College University, Pakistan Professor and Associate Dean SBE Dr. Ahmed F. Siddiqi has more than 20 years of teaching experience at various institutions and universities within and outside Pakistan. Dr. Siddiqi, an HEC approved supervisor for PhD thesis and dissertations, has conducted numerous trainings for many organizations. He also taught at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.

Dr. Faheem-ul-Islam
PhD, University of Cambridge, UK Dean SBE and Professor Dr. Faheem-ul-Islam is PhD in Competitiveness and Strategy from Cambridge University, UK and has been Director of MBA Program at LUMS. Dr. Faheem has also been a consultant to Singapore Productivity and Development Board, Asian Development Bank, The World Bank, UK AID, Citi Foundation, and Lucile Packard Foundation. He is an Affiliate of Harvard Business School's Micro-economics of Competitiveness (MOC) Network since 2006. Currently, Dr. Faheem is Professor and Dean of SBE at UMT and Visiting Professor at JAMK's School of Business and Services Management, Finland.

Dr. Dawood Mamoon


PhD, Institute of Social Studies, Netherlands Associate Professor Dr. Dawood Mamoon has done his PhD in Economics of Sustainable Development from Institute of Social Studies, Netherlands. He has many publications in internationally referred journals. Dr. Dawood has more than 10 years of working experience with international organizations like UNDP, UNESCO, ILO, Dutch Ministry of International Cooperation, Netherlands Science Foundation, International Institute of Environment and Development, Institute of Social Studies, Utrecht University, etc.

Dr. Tashfeen Mahmood Azhar


PhD, University of South Florida, USA Professor Dr. Tashfeen M. Azhar is a PhD in Industrial and Management Systems Engineering from University of South Florida, USA. Professor Azhar has vast corporate experience in Operations and Supply Chain Management. His industrial and academics experience spans over more than two decades.

Comprehensive Examination
Before the commencement of thesis, PhD candidates are required to take a comprehensive examination which will be based on the courses studied.
