EEPro

Software for HP 49
EEPro is a software ultra-fast and easy to use for the HP 49, and an invaluable aid in solving a variety of practical problems encountered by both students and professionals in electrical engineering. Designed for speed, accuracy, and ease of use, this software gives the user the ability to find quick solutions to sets of complex problems. It is akin to carrying a full set of solutions in your pocket.

Main Features
Over 1000 advanced EE analysis routines, equations, reference tables contained in this software. Has all the functionality of the HP 16C calculator including 50 functions en binary arithmetic, register operations, and minimization (Karnaugh Map) in a sum of products form. A powerful user interface engine allows algebraic entry in many analytical topics. Gives results symbolically. Easy-to-use, menu-based interface. Context-sensitive help text for every screen. Integrated access to the HP 49 stack for calculations. Comprehensive documentation for quick reference.

The user interface browser presents three broad categories to the user: Analysis, Equations and Reference. The Analysis browser presents 13 topics, the Equation browser presents 16 categories and the Reference browser presents 9 categories.

Equation sets in a given sub-topic can be solved as a whole, or as a selected set of equations. The variables in the equation set have descriptions in addition to names, and often an equation set will have a picture associated with it. The help line is dynamic in content and changes as you proceed in solving the selected problem.

A specific equation can be selected to plot, and multiple plot functions can be used to do graphical analysis when one of the variables has been changed incrementally. (The multi-plot screen display example is shown here.). EEPro is a comprehensive software which covers the undergraduate curriculum for electrical engineers in most universities.

Analysis
The analysis routines in the EEPro are indispensable tools for performing quick calculations. Analysis screens display a list of fields for entering and displaying data. The main part input screen contains input fields for data entry comparisons and result for displaying computed results. The help text at the bottom of the screen describes the action required for the highlighted field or type of result displayed. Unit management is not allowed in this section. AC Circuits Impedance calculations, voltage and current dividers, circuit performance, Wye conversion. Polyphase Circuits Wye conversion, balanced Wye load, balanced load. Ladder Network Filter Design Chebyshev, Butterworth, and active filters. Gain and Frequency Transfer function, Bode Plots. Fourier Transforms FFT and inverse FFT. Two-port Networks Parameter conversion for z, y, h, g, a, and b parameters, circuit performance, and interconnected two-ports. Transformer performance Open and short circuits tests and chain parameters. Transmission fields Lines Line characteristics, line parameters, fault location estimate, and stub impedance matching. Computer Engineering Binary modes screen, binary arithmetic, register operations, bit operations, binary conversions and Karnaugh Map. Algebraic Functions Partial fraction expansion, piecewise linear functions, polynomial coefficients, polynomial equations, polynomial roots, symbolic simplification, and Taylor polynomials. Error Functions Using error and complementary error functions. Capital Budgeting Payback period, internal rate of return, net present value, and profitability index.

Equations
The equations section is divided into 16 categories of topics with a large number of sub-topics under each topic.
