E-mail: principal_gim@gitam.edu INTERNSHIP GUIDELINES The students are required to undergo internship programme in an Organization at the end of the V Trimester for a period of 12 weeks. They have to comply with the following guidelines and familiarize themselves with the following aspects of the organization. A. PROJECT GUIDELINES: 1. The students should submit project proposal to the faculty guide before going for internship without which they will not be permitted to pursue their internship. 2. Report to the concerned officer of the organization on the date fixed and receive instructions accordingly. 3. 4. 5. Select a topic in consultation with the concerned executives of the organization and inform it immediately to the faculty guide. Collect the relevant data with the cooperation of the concerned department and with guide. The student should be present on all the days of the internship. They may be granted a leave for 2 days with the prior permission of the concerned authority and the same must be informed to the faculty- guide. The students should follow the organization timings assigned by the officer. The students should maintain a diary of their daily activities which should be signed by the concerned officer at the end of the day and the same should be submitted to the faculty guide at the end of internship. The students should submit weekly report to the Internship In charge / faculty guide. The faculty may visit at any time and if they find any student absent in the organization, a strict disciplinary action will be taken against him/her.

10. Students are advised to take up the internship work seriously and compete for The Best Project Award instituted by the institute. 11. If required by the concerned department of the organization, draft report may be Prepared and submitted to them. 12. Final report to be prepared with the guidance of the concerned faculty member. 13. The final report should be printed and submitted to the institute with the signature of the respective Guide by 20th April, 2010 without fail. B. SCHEDULE ON MANAGERIAL ASPECTS: The student should familiarize with the following managerial aspects in his/her field work. He/ she should avail any opportunities of learning by participating in the activities of the organization and must also submit an additional hand written report on the following aspects

by 20th April, 2010.

1. Company: Incorporation, Objectives, Nature of Activity and Financial Structure - Initial & Present. 2. Organization: Departmentalization of Functions, viz., Production, Finance, Marketing, Materials, R&D, Personnel, etc., and Organization Chart. 3. Manpower Particulars: Total number of Employees-Category wise; Managerial /Supervisory/ Workers; Skilled/Unskilled; Permanent/Temporary /Casual/Badili/Contract, etc.
MANUFACTURING/SERVICE PROCESS:

All the stages/steps involved in manufacturing the product/service.


MARKETING MANAGEMENT:
