Issue 7

Last time, I covered the Zook brothers and now I continue with other members of the crew of the Ning Po.

preacher man

Xun Ren is a pilot and a preacher. But hes not one of those asshat preachers. He lives his life quietly and contemplatively, at least when he isnt flyin like a maniac, dodging through asteroid fields and dropping through atmo at breakneck speeds. Originally from Paquin, he joined up with the Alliance during the Unification War and served under General Zook as chaplin and medic during several key engagements. He was there in Serenity Valley when the dead started standin up again and found himself in a terrible position, fighting his former (and deceased) friends for his very life. He died there, badly, in the mud and the blood and the fear. But it didnt take and he came back as a Harrowed, one o the first in the Verse. Since that day, hes known something is wrong with him. He hears a voice that promise violence in his head but hes kept it in check for these many years. When given the opportunity to pilot the Ning Po, he jumped at the chance. Get him into the Black. issue 7 mercenary
It all started with a bet. And Taras fell for it. As the youngest son of a noble house, Taras Maksim Yan Sidorov was the constant butt of his older brothers jokes. They didnt think he had it in him to continue the family businessmercenary work, and, in front of his mother and father, proposed a bet that would take him from his family and home for years to come. It started when Sergei, the eldest, commented on Taras lack of weapon skills. Then Leonov talked about his appalling lack of leadership ability. And finally, the rest of them joined in, all commenting on how hed be working for them when they inherited the house. That was enough. He stood, looked Sergei and the rest in the eye and said that hed be the greatest mercenary since House Sidorov was founded. Sergei, with a sly look at his brothers, said Care to wager on that? Foolishly, redfaced, he said yes, over the protests of his father and mother. He had ten years to gain in notoriety and skill and then return, either in triumph or shame. And so he left. Two years later, more skilled than he was when he left home, he finds himself in the crew of the Ning Po, wondering if hes on track or not. Hes mainly the cook of the ship and, sometimes, the general bonebreaker for Capt. Zook. But hes still got some questions whether this crew is the right one for him and his quest. Taras Maksim Yan (Sidorov) Human, Legendary (Novice + 80XP). Agility d8, Spirit d8, Smarts d8, Strength d8, Vigor d8. Pace 6, Parry 6, Toughness 6, Cha +2, Grit 4.
