Pray that the parents - both soon to be and well established - at WHAC would be filled with wisdom and love for their children. Pray that the Lord would raise up the perfect Head Teacher for our childcare, and that those in leadership would recognise His choosing. Please pray for a new ministry at WHAC called "The Playroom" aimed at providing a space for young parents to come and connect during the day at WHAC. Please pray for wisdom for Keren Carter as she leads it, and for wonderful connections to be made between WHAC volunteers and those who come. Please pray that the renovations to our facility would move ahead with excellence, and would end up being considerably under budget. Please pray for Frazer Noble as he works to complete his PhD studies in the coming months. Pray for Gods wisdom and guidance for Hmong District leaders. They are developing a discipleship program that seeks to make disciples who will make disciples for the purposes of evangelism, church planting, church growth, and the training of Hmong believers in the United States and around the world.

NEWS
If you know what those acronyms mean, then you should probably go! On Sunday, September 23rd from 7:00 at the church, we will have our annual general meeting of the membership. This is an important, and mandatory meeting of the membership where we look at the ministry and finances of the past twelve months, while also looking at what is projected for the coming year. Annual Reports will be available in early September. Please note: These reports and the AGM is open to anybody to attend. Sunday School during the renovations We love our kids... we love your kids... and we want to keep them around as long as possible. And so, in the interest of th safety, from 12 August, Sunday School for ages 3-13 will be held at Phyllis Charlton's home (22 Tatyana Place) from 10:15am -11:45am. Parents are welcome to drop their children off, or to stay and help them settle for as long as necessary. Once the hall is safe for our kids, Sunday School (and Phyllis!) will return to the facility! Worship at WHAC The Psalms encourage us to sing new songs to the Lord... and we take that seriously at WHAC! To help us do that well, a New Music CD will be available ($10/each) in September for you to worship and listen and learn at home or on the beach, or even when you're doing the dishes! A financial update: Thanks to your generosity in giving, we ended our 2011-12 financial year 11% AHEAD of target. That's amazing, especially considering that our target wasn't a small one for our church. So, praise the Lord and good for you! Because of this wonderful news, our annual deficit shrank down from the projected $10,500 to just over $4,000. Through it all though, we've sought to honour God in both our giving and stewardship of church funds, and I trust that He was honoured. Pastor Matt - for the Executive Team

Trust and Obey If you love me, you will obey what I command. John 14:15 Trust and obey, for theres no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey. Simple words from a simple hymn. Yet these simple words contain incredible insight into the essential elements of the Christian life. Trust and obedience are your allies when you surrender your life to God. For its God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose. Thats what the apostle Paul teaches in the book of Philippians. But if we dont trust that God loves us, that He is all-wise and all-powerful, and that He cares for us; we wont be very likely to obey Him, will we? When it comes to our formal theology, we confess a belief which says that obedience is born out of trust. Yet in our day-to-day life, were too often disobedient in spite of giving lip-service to trust. So the question remains: can you truly trust your Lord without obeying Him? In Luke 11:28 Jesus calls those who hear the word of God and obey it blessed. In other words: Trust and obey, for theres no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.
