Stethoscope & sphygmomanometer

oxyen
Oxygen should be administered to people experiencing cardiovascular emergencies, noncardiovascular stress-related emergencies such as seizures and thyroid crises, and noncardiovascular non-stress-related emergencies such as allergies and orthostaCc hypotension.

Electro-cautery machine
an apparatus for surgical dissecCon and hemostasis, using heat generated by a high- voltage, high-frequency alternaCng current passed through an electrode. Use for stop bleeding vessel

Electro-surgery machine
It has ability to make precise cuts with limited blood loss. Electrosurgical devices are frequently used during surgical operaCons helping to prevent blood loss in hospital operaCng rooms or in outpaCent procedures.

5% Dextrose in water
A carbohydrate soluCon that uses glucose (sugar) as the solute dissolved in sterile water. Five percent dextrose in water is packed as an isotonic soluCon but becomes hypotonic once in the body because the glucose (solute) dissolved in sterile water is metabolized rapidly by the bodys cells.

Colloid soluCons
IV uids containing large proteins and molecules that tend to stay within the vascular space (blood vessels).

Crystalloid soluCons
IV uids containing varying concentraCons of electrolytes.

Salbutamol Inhaler (100 micrograms/ dose)


Asthma aXack 1 - 2 actuaCons inhaled Repeated if required

Midazolam 10mg
Prolonged seizures (convulsive movements lasCng 5 minutes or longer) Seizures recurring in quick succession 10 mg buccal

Glyceryl Trinitrate Spray (400micrograms/dose)


Angina or suspected heart aXack 1 2 actuaCons sublingually no more than three doses are recommended at any one Cme

Glucose
Hypoglycaemia (co-operaCve, conscious & able to swallow safely) 10-20g of short acCng carbohydrate oral e.g. glass of lucozade or fruit juice, 3 or more glucose tablets, or 5 sweets or 25g tube of glucogel (10g of carbohydrate): oral or gently squeeze into cheek, rub outside of cheek to aid absorpCon Repeated aaer 15 mins if required

Glucagon 1mg
Hypoglycaemia (impaired consciousness, un- cooperaCve or unable to swallow) 1 mg IM

Aspirin 300 mg
Suspected heart aXack 300 mg oral (crushed or chewed)

Adrenaline 1:1000 (1mg/ml)


For Anaphylaxis 500 micrograms (0.5 mls 1:1000) IM May be repeated at 5 min intervals according to BP, pulse & respiratory funcCon
