Turf Clubs is a sports club primarily involved into the horse racing. Horse raci ng is an equestrian sport that has a long history.Earlier existed as a sport of kings and the nobility. Modern racing, however, exists primarily because it is a major venue for legalized gambling.Horse racing is also a major professional sport in Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Western Europe, Australia. Flat racing is a form of Thoroughbred horse racing which is run over a level track for a predetermined distance. The race is a test of speed, stamina, and the skill of the jockey.
The steeplechase is a form of horse racing involving Jumping fences and ditches and generally traversing the many intervening obstacles

Harness racing is a form of horse racing in which the horses race at a specific gait (a trot or a pace). Slide9: NHBSI was setup in 1920 to promote equestrian activities.it represents the interests of Indian thoroughbred breeders, both individual as well as stud farm owners. It has ensured that horse breeding operations come under the agricultural ministry.one of the major achievements of the society was it was able to save the india race industry from closure as states were not permitting racing activity. Slide10: It is set up and recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. IHSBA maintains separate stud books for each Indigenous breeds. Slide11: society which was formed by people interested in the preservation, promotion and International recognition of the Indigenous breed of horses IHSI held a series of meetings with concerned officials and had the ban removed. IHSI has been pursuing the question of a disease free zone to help export of horses to the EU and proper surveillance. Regular input and information has been submitted to the Ministry in regard to disease survey report. financial assistance has been granted and a scheme to preserve the indigenous horses came into existence. As a part of planning process GoP intends to hire a consultant for the specifications & standards.Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (IL&FS IDC) has been appointed as project development advisor to assist

GOP in developing the project on Public Private Partnership format on DBFOT Basis. Slide14: Race Track They form the most important structure in the course. Two surfaces cover the track. One is grass track which will be used for racing in monsoon season and a mud which will be used for racing in winters or summers. Grand Stand Complex: Capacity varies from 3000 to 9000 depending on the average turn out expected at the course. Apart from the seating capacity about 60 % to 70 % more space will be allocated for standing. Stable: An airy and well maintained stable for 1200 Horses and Syces.
