No Papers, No Fears Ride for Justice to make a stop in Greensboro, NC

Greensboro, NC August 29, 2012 The national bus tour, No Papers, No Fears Ride for Justice, which approximately 30 days ago began its journey from Arizona to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, will make a stop in Greensboro, NC on Friday, August 31st at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Rd, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. In the spirit of the Freedom Rides and the Sit-in Movement, with the theme Undocumented and Unafraid, these brave men and women are bearing witness to the truth that everyone born on earth deserves a space and a place on this earth, while rallying the migrant community to overcome fear and organize to challenge anti-immigrant policies along the way. In conjunction with the Pulpit Forum, members of the Greensboro Faith Leaders Council and The Beloved Community Center of Greensboro, community members, Greensboro immigrants, and undocumented organizers with the No Papers No Fear Ride for Justice will gather together to encourage and support the riders as they stand up for immigrant rights, denounce racial profiling, and stand against programs such as 287(g), a collaboration between federal and local police to enforce immigration law, burdening local governments and eroding the safety and trust of all communities. The public is asked to gather at New Light Missionary Baptist Church by 2:45p.m. to welcome the bus, share words of encouragement and bid them safe and productive travels as they move to complete their journey to Charlotte, NC.
