Situation
At large events, we focus on young people Adult Leaders are usually there "just to provide services to the young participants First steps in the WOSM European Region: Euro.Scout.Doc Rewarding your leaders at a camp One step further is to try to leave long-term effect directly on volunteer leaders at events

Aim of the idea

Explore more concepts of leadership for life Contribute to personal development of Adult Leaders Improve motivation of the Leaders at large events Provide recognition for the learning gained Promote another view on Leader training Provide additional benefit to the national Scout associations Ensure aims and objectives of the event are achieved

Offer volunteer leaders the opportunity to note their development in 4 different areas
Safe from harm practical implementation of the learning achieved through the eLearning module

Intercultural leadership - work in a multicultural environments and experiences that improve leadership skills

Team performance working in a complex, multicultural teams (including conflict solving)

Technical skills progress in the specific role Adult will have at the Jamboree

Process
Introduction of the process would be part of the IST training Part of an individual Leaders logbook personal tool Mid-term evaluation: individual and team check about the learning gained so far Final assessment: teams would be invited to perform a comprehensive assessment of the individual learning towards the end of the event. This assessment will include a validation - the one from the team Follow up: a process of national validation, both using methods that exist in Scouting, and possibly external recognition

WOSM plan for the Jamboree

Offer specific meeting with those responsible for participants in contingents' leadership (during IST training) Reminder, a short document presenting possible tools, games and activities to use in the process, and support from the advisers to any team in need (for the mid-term assessment) New set of instructions, examples of tools, games and activities to use, team and individual forms and a method to collect and process the results of the validation (for the final assessment A web-based network platform for experience sharing even after the event Prepare instructions for contingents and NSOs, process individual forms (send consolidated data about individual learning to the contingent leaderships), a certificate that will jointly be presented by the Jamboree, World Bureau and the NSO
