CONFERENCE OVERVIEW:
In the current-age mechanics of business-management, knowledge constitutes of the greater portion of the economy where it has surfaced as a valuable asset and a critical tool to fostering creativity and innovativeness. The ability to manage knowledge is becoming ever more crucial. The creation and diffusion of knowledge are increasingly important factors in economic competitiveness. Knowledge is not only embodied in goods and services, particularly in high technology industries, which provide the highest rates of growth in productivity in business management. While organizations have always had some form of 'knowledge management' system, it is now apparent that the ability to systematically identify, generate, acquire, diffuse and capture the benefits of knowledge can provide a substantial strategic advantage. The extent of intangible assets in major firms, often exceeding their tangible assets many-fold, is one illustration. The conference theme i.e. emerging knowledge economy in the 21st century: opportunities and challenges understands that in the current economic shift from industrial to information-based economy, knowledge constitutes of the increasing portion of value in processes, products and services. Hence, the term knowledge economy covers a huge range of issues faced by organizations in the 21st century. Therefore, SAICON 2012 aims to provide a platform to discuss the key issues faced by global firms in an emerging knowledge economy with considerations from academics and researchers.
implementation of ideas and concepts by providing a continuous forum where your proposals and ideas are discussed throughout the year (electronically on the internet). In a series of efforts to link the academia and research with the industry and promote research in the South Asian sub-continent, the organizing committee of the SAICON 2012 in collaboration with AGBA has embarked on a distinctive journey to provide an annual forum to researchers exploring different areas of business, economics and social sciences.
