HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY NEW SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 10-12; Galatians 1 Monday, September 10 Deut. 32:5their spot is not the spot of his children Heavenly Father and Holy Lord: I thank you I have found the sweet spot, secret spot, that proves I am a child of God. It would be presumption for me to try to decide this based on my own feeling or opinion, but your word reveals it to me clearly. I thank you I can know with certainty where I will spend eternity, because I have your word of revelation to guide me. This is the same spot I pray for others to find this year! John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God I pray for __________ and __________ that they will receive Jesus Christ into their heart and life and be made a child of God. John 1:12 even to them that believe on his name: I pray for __________ and __________ that they will believe on Christs name, and simply from their heart trust Jesus the crucified, who is now exalted to be their redeemer. This will make them a member of the family of the Most High. Whatever else they may not have or may not know, if they have this they have the privilege to become a child of God. Lord, make it so! John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: Here it is in a nutshell. Christ shows up as shepherd and his own sheep recognize him, they trust him, and then prepare to follow him. Lord, may someone in the lost families I contact come to know you in the same mutual knowledge and constant connection I have with you as your child. This is the sure spot and indelible mark of being saved and belonging to the family of God. I beseech you O Lord, let not this year pass until they have committed their souls to Christ! Give us souls for eternity for Jesus sake. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 19-21; Galatians 4 Thursday, September 13 Heb. 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 13-15; Galatians 2 Tuesday, September 11 John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Heavenly Lord: Without you I can do nothing, and if I am a branch, then what I am designed to do is bear fruit. Apart from you I can produce nothing, make nothing, create nothing, accomplish nothing. Make me bear the fruits of the Spirit expected from someone spiritually united to Christ. What fruit ought to come from such a root! Being a branch in you Jesus, what good I should produce! Yet I can do nothing if there is not a constant union. Let me use that thought to help me fulfill Pauls commands to 1 Thess. 5:16-19 Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Do I make sure to take Christ with me? If I am on my way, do I suddenly stop and say, I am without the Master. I dare not go another step? Make the abiding consciousness of your presence through your Spirit the basic fundamental element of my strength and spiritual power. Power to change the human will, power to enlighten the minds of the lost to the things of God, power to influence their attitude toward repentance and faithsurely these things come only from you. Do I really believe that? Or do I rely on self? The power lies with the Master. The might is not in the sword, but in the Spirit that wields it. We must have Christ in our pews, in our aisles, in our pulpits, and in my cubicle when I stand up to speak for him. Make me feel like he is with me, even to the end of the world. Give me grace to acknowledge you in all things today, so revival will be on my path. I ask it for Jesus glory. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 22-24; Galatians 5 Friday, September 14 Dan. 9:9-10 To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him; Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets. Almighty and Merciful Father: We have sinned and strayed. Like lost sheep, we have wandered from your will and followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended your holiness and left undone those things that we should have done, while we have done those things that we ought not to have done. There is no soundness in us apart from the holiness your Holy Spirit provides. 1 Cor. 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: So Lord, we count on your mercy, not because of our merits, but because of the sanctification purchased by Jesus Christ for us with his bloody sweat in the garden, and his death up on the cross. Have mercy Lord, upon us miserable offenders. Spare those that confess their sins. Restore those who repent. Do this for us today, according to the promises you have declared in your word, and so revive us again toward your mission. Grant most merciful Father, for your Son Jesus sake, that we may live God-like lives today. The thing that pleases you most is righteousness, and in all soberness of prayer we claim the righteousness of Christ as our breastplate against the tempter. Give us conquering grace over the Evil One, and through your bountiful goodness deliver us from the bonds of those sins that in our frailty we have committed. Keep our church pure for your greater usefulness. Grant this, O heavenly Father, for Jesus Christs sake and to the glory of your holy name. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 16-18; Galatians 3 Wednesday, September 12 2 Cor. 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; My Lord and My Father: From the depths of my soul, smitten with an absolute self-loathing and selfdespair, I admit this truth with Paul. Down on my knees and out of my mouth I admit it. This is not just the compliment to Jesus that politeness requires. No, this is a confession of soul that says, Lord I often act like a good-for-nothing donothing, and become a fruitless, barren branch. I am all dry and rotten without you, and I feel this in my innermost soul. Be not far from me. Quicken and revive me with your presence today. Heb. 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; If without you I can do nothing, then I am crying to never be without you! I will come with strong crying and tears to entreat your abiding presence, and the sense of your Spirit in revival. You come to those who seek you; therefore I will never stop seeking you. Many times, prayer is the appointed means to convey the blessings you already intend to give. Help me constantly use it for that, and may the result increase every day! I dont want a life independent of you. I am the branch and you are my vine, but you will not be with me unless I humbly submit to you. I will not argue over supremacy of my life. Here, I give myself away, and yield my body to you. I am willing to be, to do, and to suffer according to your will. Give me the splendor of a faith that measures itself by the Christ in whom it trusts. Do this for Jesus sake and glory. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 25-27; Galatians 6 Saturday, September 15 Psa. 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. O Righteous and Merciful Lord: Some prayers I express in words, and some in silent meditation. Words are not the essence of my prayers, but they are the garments of some of them. When I can formulate my pleas into words they prevent my distraction, excite my devotion, and assist my soul in coming before you. But Lord, help me cultivate the spirit of prayer, which is even better than the habit of prayer. So make me careful to keep the stream of meditation flowing throughout the day. Let me start to pray even before I kneel, and not stop praying after I rise. While the dew is still on the grass, I want grace to drop in my soul. I will give you the mornings of my days and the days of my life. Make prayer for me the key to the day, and the lock I use at night. I will make this discipline my morning and evening stars. I miss much of the power of prayer when I do not prepare my heart to pray, and do not expect answers after I pray. Let my preparation lock-wrists with patient expectation, so I can see far greater answers to my prayer! Psa. 5:7 But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. Lord, I know you cannot be at home in the living room of my heart if I host the Devil in the basement of my thoughts. Since I have a multitude of sins, I approach you for the multitude of your mercies. While your judgments are all numbered, your mercies are innumerable. You give wrath by weight, but your mercy without weighing it. I count on your mercy this weekend Lord, for all the lost sinners who will come to our services. Meet them and us! Amen.

O SOUL, are you weary and troubled?

No light in the darkness you see? Theres a light for a look at the Savior, And life more abundant and free! Through death into life everlasting He passed, and we follow Him there; Over us sin no more hath dominion For more than conquerors we are! His Word shall not fail youHe promised; Believe Him, and all will be well: Then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell! Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace. Helen H. Lemmel, 1922

PRAYER DIARY

INTERCEDE WITH GOD INSTRUCT SAINTS PROMPT PETITIONS KICKSTART DEVOTION

INSTRUCTIONS:

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
