All recipes are from Grandma Marion Gelpeys Recipe Boxes; the ones that were not legible are typed up. I included some ads (Bananas 4lbs for $1!). Marian Gelpeys Rich Lakshen Kugel

1. Cook and drain egg noodles 2. Heat milk and butter 3. Add cottage cheese, sour cream, beaten eggs, and sugar 4. Mix with fruit 5. Bake in 13 x 9 x2 pan in 325 for 2 hours

1 lb egg noodles 1 pint milk (2 cups) 1 sticks butter or margarine (1/4 cup per stick) 1 lb cottage cheese 1 cup sour cream 4 eggs - beaten 1 cup sugar 1 can crushed pineapple, drained or can fruit cocktail or 1 cup raisins

Cinnamon Twists
1. Bring to boil in large saucepan 1 cup sour cream. 2. Remove from heat. 3. Stir in cup melted butter, sugar, baking soda & salt 4. Allow to cool 5. Add 1 large egg 6. Add crumbled bread yeast & stir until dissolved 7. Turn out mixture on floured board 8. Knead lightly 9. Cover with damp cloth and let rest for 5 minutes 10. Roll dough to thick with dimensions 6 x 24 11. Spread surface with 8 Tablespoons of butter 12. Sprinkle half long way with mix of brown sugar & cinnamon 13. Bring unsugared half over, press lightly 14. Cut in wide strips, twist each end in opposite directions 15. Place on greased sheet, 2 apart 16. Cover. Let rise about 1 hours 17. Bake 12-15 minutes @375, while warm, frost

1 cup sour cream cup butter 3 Tablespoons Sugar 1/8 tsp baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 large egg 1 packet bread yeast

8 Tablespoons butter cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Florence Cooks Chocolate Cake

2 oz chocolate Add 5T boiling water. Cool. Cream cup marg. Or butter 1 cup sugar Add chocolate Add 4 egg yolks, one at a time, reserve whites. Sift before measuring, then sift together: 1 cup cake flour 3 tsp baking powder tsp salt

Add, alternating with cup milk. Beat until smooth Add 1 tsp vanilla Add stiff egg whites. Fold. Bake in greased & floured lg. tube pan 350 for 40 min. Do not overbake.

Israeli Choc Torte

Beat till light 4 egg yolks 4 rounded T. sugar add 3 T. cocoa 3 T. flour slightly rounded Fold in 4 stiffly beaten egg whites Bake in 9 round pan greased 7 lined with wax paper - 350 for 30 min. Remove from pan after it cools (will fall in center)

Filling pint or less heavy cream . Bring to boil. Chill. Whip with 1/4 c conf. sugar

Baked Lamb Chops

1. Brown lamb chops in butter and place in a casserole 2. Sprinkle with salt & pepper 3. Pour water into pan and stir to loosen drippings 4. Add rest of ingredients and pour over chops 5. Cover & bake in preheated moderate oven (350F) for 1 hour Can also be used with pork chops

6 lean loin lamb chops 2 tablespoons butter Salt & pepper cup water 1 -8 oz can tomato sauce cup ketchup 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt teaspoon dried oregano

Chinese Fried Lobster

lb finely ground pork 2 clove garlic crushed Pepper, 1 tsp ginger 6 T oil Put all in lg fry pan & brown meat Add 1 can lobster (thawed), stir 3 min Add 1 c. chicken stock 1 c water. Cover & cook 10 min

Add the following (mixed together) Add the following (mixed together) water, 2 tsp sugar, 4T corn starch 2T soy sauce 1 tsp brown sauce Mix sauce, add to lobster etc in pan, stir till thick Add 2 beaten eggs (if desired) & 3 chopped scallions Turn off gas at once. Stir well. Serve with boiled rice.

Mas Cookie Dough

4 c. flour 1 tbs baking powder 1 tsp salt 1 c sugar (or more) 1/2c oil c. water mixed 1 tsp vanilla 2 eggs Mix in order given Bake 325 for 40 min
