Task 5, Laundry care labels


In the table below is some symbols for washing, bleaching, drying, ironing and dry cleaning. Definitions for the symbols are also given. There is only one symbol for dry cleaning but additional symbols or words or both are used to clarify the instructions. Use the symbols to help you: with your discussions on laundry care labels and its definitions sort your laundry into different piles (hand wash, machine wash or dry clean) with the care instructions (e.g. use warm or cold water and which chemical to use or not to use) Machine Wash Cycle What it means: Regular/Normal Cycle with regular agitation and spin speed may be used. Machine wash, COLD Machine wash, WARM Machine Wash, HOT Use Permanent Press/Wrinkle Resistant washer setting (which has a cool down or cold spray before the reduced spin). Machine wash, COLD Permanent Press Machine wash, WARM Permanent Press Machine wash, HOT Permanent Press Use Gentle/Delicate washer setting (slow agitation and/or reduced wash time).
