We are also in a battle for the home and particularly our marriages. Dont miss Love Worth Fighting For led by Kirk Cameron. This Feed Your Faith Marriage Conference, by the well-known actor of TV and movies, will give you practical tools for your marriage. It is rare that we have a young teacher with us whose godliness is far greater than his celebrity. Kirk is a winsome communicator. God has given to us a loyal solider on our staff who can stand firm for our church and our Lord. Over these years, Rev. Doug Pigg, our Associate Pastor in Administration, has won the hearts of more and more of our people. He is far more than just a business administrator, but is a true shepherd of the flock, a preacher of the Word, and a servant who will do whatever it takes. With the departure of Forrest Head and Lewis Howard to other ministries, Doug has stepped in and is capably covering a number of bases. The Personnel Committee and I have felt led to designate him as our Senior Associate Pastor. He will continue to direct the church finances and Deacons, as well as oversee the ministerial staff and various ministries and committees of the church. At the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida, one of the nations largest churches, Doug was Senior Associate Pastor for many years. I am grateful for how he and Renee have supported Janet and me in many different ways. We are still looking for an Education Pastor, a position which Doug will not fill, though he is also covering that area until we find a God-called, experienced education minister. We continue to park (even if temporarily) responsibilities with other staff, reevaluating gifts and talents, and reallocating resources. This is a great time to allow the Lord to speak to us and do new things in our midst: He will revive us, so let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn. There is a harvest appointed for you (Hosea 6:2, 3, 11).
