Personal Information Peter Marijnissen Penelopestraat 131 5631 CK Eindhoven The Netherlands Age: 54, Married, 2 children Personal Profile I enjoy the freedom to create and market my own product as entrepreneur, and to involve and interact with other people who share my vision and passion to help others using social driven IT technology. I am an experienced embedded software engineer with additional education in software ergonomics, for optimizing the development of products and applications from concept to validation. I have worked on various embedded systems such as CD/DVD and Blu-ray platforms, car radios and navigation, television and copy machines, using tools and methods such as ClearCase/ClearQuest and OMT/UML. I have effective organizational and communication skills to achieve results. As SQA Officer this involved organizing audits and reviews to help attain CMM level 2, and as ISEB qualified test engineer have improved product quality for DVD and television platforms. I enjoy meeting and helping people, and am curious about their ideas and motivations. My human factors work has led to people skills useful during requirements, prototyping and testing new products. I can combine theoretical user research with practical design to create working prototypes, specifications, and test cases resulting in high quality systems. Detailed Work Experience Nov/2007 Dec/2011 Entrepreneur - NovaTouch BV, Eindhoven Started my own business in user friendly touchscreen computers for elderly. Using a touchscreen computer for user friendly calender reminders, video calling, email, internet, photos, videos, music and personal alarm services. Dec/2006 - Sep/2007 Consultant - UseTech Consultancy, Valkenswaard Continuing my own business looking for assignments or employment in the area of embedded/internet software engineering and software ergonomics. Software Test Engineer - Philips Semiconductors / NXP Improve product quality of CD/DVD/Blu-ray drive platforms. Supported test team using Microsoft Studio environment by developing a C++ DLL which integrated the test routines into their Test Tool. Developed and ran performance tests to support the hardware and software engineers in the drive development, This was done discussing test reports in daily meetings with engineers, and use of Rational's ClearQuest for problem reporting. Worken on documentation improvements within the test team using the IEEE 829 Software Test Documentation standard, to customize the test designs, cases and procedures into one test specification. Improve product quality of flat screen television platform (810 project) at a system level, using ChangeSynergy for problem reporting and validating change requests. Currently working with a team of test engineers to release the TTE set. Jan/2001 - Dec/2003 Software Quality Assurance Officer - Philips Optical Storage, Eindhoven Perform software audits for projects within the R&D department: Emerging Technologies & Systems (ETS). Icon Media Lab - Usability Consultant Evaluate usability of sites under development. Primarily worked on improving the user interface for www.labelsandstuff.com. Due to reorganization during Dot-Com crash function ended prematurely. Research Assistant - TU-Eindhoven First year full time study, second year final project: BOVA service intranet. Masters program in User-System Interaction, from the TUE's Stan-Akkermans Institute given at the IPO: Research Center for User-System Interaction. This is a two year program resulting in the title MTD: Masters of Technological Design. Fourteen months are dedicated to full-time study and ten months for the final project: designing an international intranet for the service organization of the bus factory BOVA in Valkenswaard. System Designer - ICT automatisering, Eindhoven The following assignments were done in this period: 1. 1994 (7 months): Philips IMS - Hasselt Belgium: software development for the first OEM CD-Recordable for PC. 2. 1995 (3 months): Mead Johnson - Nijmegen: a factory producing baby milk powders, a communication interfacing between the SCADA system and Oracle database was made for their new process automation. 3. 1995 (9 months): Philips CE - IR3 Wenen: diverse software development of the TVCR-combi TV set (combination TV and VCR). 4. 1996 (6 months): Philips Car Systems - Eindhoven: write a generic User Requirements Specification (URS) for CARiN (CAR Information and Navigation). 5. 1997-1998 (21 months): OCE - Venlo: Work within R&D on an office copy machine by first investigating new operating systems for embedded PC's, QNX and VxWorks. Supported further development by porting the existing software to the VxWorks platform. 6. 1998 (3 months): Philips Car Systems - Wetzlar: assist the CARiN Product Management with setting up and writing the Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS).

Software Engineer - Philips Car Systems, Wetzlar Germany 1. 1989: Support for moving the development environment to Wetzlar. 2. 1990: Development of Philips and Rover concept cars, involving user interface, smart card, CAN bus and board computer development, to demonstrate latest technology to car manufacturers. 3. 1991: Development of user interface architecture for car radios. 4. 1992 - 1994: User interface software development for BMW, VW and Philips car radios, and interface software for the BMW CD changer. Support Engineer - Philips Car Systems, Eindhoven Software and tool support for the CARiN (CAR Information & Navigation) project. Responsible for Infrastructure, tooling, configuration management, utility maintenance and communication with IT department and external tool suppliers (Teamwork, Framemaker, OS9 and mapping tools). Software Engineer - Philips Laser Vision Lab, Eindhoven Development of a new generation picture disc players. Software development of external user interfaces such as remote control and computer control, and worked on internal bus protocol between the control and servo processor. For the second-generation cost-down model, the control and servo software was ported to a single processor.
