Hassal Sharif ( )is the place of famous sufi saints and Sufi teachers.It is the place of Islamic culture.It has the shrine of the famous Sufi mystic Syed Qurban Hussain Shah Bukhari.Today, Hassal Sharif is a center of spirituality and thousands of people from far and wide come here and are spiritually blessed.

Name
Hassal Sharif first name was "Hasaal Kheanger" , after Syed Said Muhammad Bukhari and Syed Taj Muhammad Bukhari migration his name was changed into Hassal Sharif. Word Hassal is the combination of two words "Has" and "aal", which means, "Land of happy people" and "sharif" means "Gentle/Noble", therefore, the word Hassal sharif means "Land of Happy and Gentle People."

Geographical importance
Hassal Sharif is an ancient town located in tehsil Gujar Khan and district Rawalpindi of the Punjab province of Pakistan.It is 70 kilometers(km) away from the capital Islamabad.It is situated in the center of the road which links Mandra and Chakwal. Adhi field of OGDCL is 10 miles away from Hassal Sharif. Gujar Khan city is situated in the South-East of Hassal Sharif and is about 40 km away.Hassal Sharif have these longitude and latitude are 33.20E and 73.11N. The world second largest salt mine Khewra Salt Mine, is approximately 80 km from Hassal Sharif.

Founders
It was founded around 1550 AD by two brothers Syed Said Muhammad Bukhari and Syed Taj Muhammad Bukhari when they migrated from Bilot Sharif / NWFP (Pakistan).

History
Hassal sharif is one of the oldest village. Hassal Sharif is especially known for its sufi saints and islamic scholars who laid the Foundation of this area hundred years ago. Hassal Sharif is famous for Jalali Sufi order (jalalia silsila). which was introduced by Syed Jalaluddin Surkh-Posh Bukhari 800 years ago.Here is the place of rest of Syed Qurban Hussain Shah Bukhari.

Syed Qurban Shah Bukhari was the great successor of jalali sufi order in Hassal Sharif ,who served Islam and Mankind for whole of his life.He was a Prominent spirtual leader of a Jalali sufi order.He died in 1968. after him his son Syed Gulzar shah Bukhari was a great successor likh his father. after Syed Gulzar Shah Bukhari is famous successor in Hassal Sharif.Presently famous Sufi scholar Syed Mehmood Shah Bukhari is working for Islam day and night. who is the Son Of Syed Qurban Hussain Shah Bukhari(R.A). He is a great islamic sufi scholar/shyakh(Guide) and successor of jalali sufi order. He is Spiritual Leader/Teacher who Lives in Hassal Sharif and thousands of people from far and wide come to Hassal Sharif and get spiritually benefited and Accpet islam at his hand. Shaykh Syed Mehmood Shah Bukhari travelled to many areas including south and central Asia,Middle east and Europe for the service of Man-Kind. Many Jews,christians,hindus,khalsas(Sikhs),jamicans and many other Non-Muslims people accepted islam at his hand during his journeys.

Urs festival
Another great aspect of Hassal Sharif is the annual mela (festival) which is celebrated from 29th Oct to 1st Nov. The annual Urs festival commemorates the death anniversary Of Hazrat Pir Syed Qurban Hussain Shah Bukhari .Qawwali concerts are held In honour of the saint during the Urs. Jalali's own kalam(Poetry) and the kalam of others sufies. It attracts a large number of devotees to the shrine.
