STUDENT POSTER PROGRAM PROPOSAL The Dennis H.

May Conference on Diversity Issues and the Role of Counseling Centers University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign September 17-18, 2012 The Counseling Center invites undergraduate and graduate students to submit proposals for a poster session being held on Monday, September 17th, 2012. The theme for this years conference is, Microaggressions. In preparing your poster presentation we ask that you consider the following question: As we work to honor our multiple identities and worldviews, how do we make sense of the complexities and intersections that occur including cultural identities, values, privilege, and marginalization? The conference provides a forum to jointly discuss this question while building bridges and crossing boundaries to help us better understand the complexity of answers. We would like the poster presentation session to add to this discussion forum. Topics for posters may include, but are not limited to Microaggressions, Diversity, Outreach, Men and Masculinity, First Generation College Students, Identity Development, International Students, the Counseling profession, Intersecting Identities, Racism and Discrimination, Ability, Religion and Spirituality, Heterosexism and Homophobia, Gender Studies.
