Later this year, you and 13,000 other RMT members - will be asked to vote for the senior

union officer representing all London Transport workers.

Whether you work for London Underground, TfL, DLR, Tube Lines, or a contractor; stations, trains, service control, revenue, engineering, fleet, admin, taxis, or cycle hire - this election is about YOU.

What we face: The government, City Hall and our employers are unleashing attacks on our jobs, our conditions, our agreements and our union. We need a Regional Organiser with the experience, knowledge, skills, commitment and drive to organise the fightback against these attacks, and to unite and mobilise the talents of everyone in the region. I am that person. My record: joined the union in 1985 have been a local, health & safety and functional council rep as secretary, led the rebuilding of Piccadilly & District West branch from scratch after the Company Plan delegate to RMT AGM on four occasions represented London Transport region on the RMT Council of Executives twice led the fight against the London Underground Public-Private Partnership and negotiated the jobs for life agreement - which is still in place, but which we continually have to defend. covered the position of Regional Organiser during two periods. RMT National President 2007-09: custodian of the unions rules, always ensuring that RMT is a rank-and-file-led union, which has a fighting, democratic and organising belief at its heart. After my term as President, I returned to my Station Supervisor job, working hard for RMT day-in-day-out in the workplace (our unions bedrock), recruiting cleaners and station staff, and representing many members in disciplinaries, sickness, flexible working, pensions and legal cases, including winning the reinstatement of sacked RMT rep Peter Hartshorn. During the Tube Lines strikes, I refused to work on safety grounds and closed my station. RMTs task: The unions primary responsibility is to fight for every member and defend every job and condition, in all grades and companies. The experience I have gained over 27 years, and the commitment of my entire working life to our union, on London Transport and in the wider labour movement, means that if elected, I will give 100% to the post. I will organise, communicate and work tirelessly to build our membership and take on the bosses with effective, winning strategies. I will welcome everyones involvement and input, being approachable and ensuring maximum unity. I will be accountable and democratic, and provide support, materials and training for reps. My record proves that I can and will do all this.

Yours in solidarity
