Don Rimer is a retired, 33-year veteran of the Virginia Beach, Virginia Police Department. He serves as an investigator, consultant, and speaker to agencies throughout the United States and Canada. He is an Instructor for the Virginia Gang Investigators Association, Oklahoma Gang Investigators Association and the Northwest Gang Investigators Association. He is an internationally recognized authority on Ritual Crime and the Occult. Since 1986, he has spoken to more than 2,500 schools, churches, civic groups, and professional organizations. In 1996, he served as a consultant to the Virginia Governors Task Force on Ritual Crime. In 1999, he signed a contract with a major television network production company. His first documentary, Vampires Among Us was syndicated worldwide after it aired in November 2002 on The Learning Channel. In 2000, he received his citys highest award: induction into the Virginia Beach Employees Hall of Fame. He was also a recipient of the Virginia Beach Police Departments third highest award: The Medal of Merit. Both of these awards were for his outstanding contributions to law enforcement and the community. In 2007, he co-authored an article, Vulnerable Goth Teens. It was published in September, 2008 in the American School Health Associations Journal of School Health. In 2009, he signed a contract with NBC News to develop a documentary and dramatic series. In addition, he released a DVD on Ritual Crime and the Occult. He has co-authored a new article on Goth teens that will be published world-wide in 2011 by the Encyclopedia of Adolescent Behavior. He has contributed to or has been featured in numerous books and publications. He has appeared on national and worldwide television broadcasts to include Montel Williams, The 700 Club, Unsolved Mysteries, Greta Van Susteren, and the Canadian Broadcasting Network.
