-- Counting words in sentences. This is a skill that goes with print concepts and increasing your childs awareness of text in books as they read. When you are reading books to your child at home , have them count the words in a short sentence. (3 to 5 words) Have your child tell you how many words there are. Often the students want to count the letters in every word in the sentence. We will continue to practice at school as well.

The newest class Behavior Program started the week of September the 4th and you all should of gotten an email with a graph of your childs behavior progress for the week. My hope is to send the progress graph at the end of each week so that you are seeing your childs weekly behavior. I realize several of you would like B r daily behavior reports, however it is not feasible to stop every day and do reports for 27 students. This i does not utilize teaching skills in the classroom. Time n spent correcting behavior needs to be a minimum at g school. Please address behavior very seriously so that learning can take place at school. m Students need to be actively engaged in learning so that o they and others around them can participate in the learning environment. n If you are not receiving an email report with your y childs behavior graph. Please let me know. You can email or call me.
