MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Song of Solomon 4-6; Philippians 1 Monday, September 24 2 Cor. 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. God My Father: Help me magnify Christ as your indescribable gift. I cannot do that if I belittle my sins, pare-down my depravity, or make light of my future judgment. I cannot treat absolute truth like human opinion, and whittle certainties down to sentimentality. Christ is all; Christ is the gift of your free graceand that is unspeakable against the backdrop of my own unworthiness because of GRACE. I can never possibly thank you as I ought to, but I still ought to thank you! Who among us has ever worshipped worthily apart from your Spirits help? If Jesus is my salvation, then when should I not be blessing you? Every morning when I wake, I should. How long should I continue? Psa. 113:3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lords name is to be praised. Can I not go on singing even in my dreams? Make chords of gratefulness keep vibrating even after the hand of conscious thought stops strumming. Make my vision wander to my Beloved and never ramble outside of holy ground. Even in the night let me sing sweet hymns to Jesus. Help me Lord to give double praise while I can. Let me vow that today, by your grace helping me, I will praise you for your unspeakable gift, especially to others who need to receive you! Thats one job Ill never completely finish. All who know salvation, all the angels of heaven, and the saints of all the ages cannot talk-up enough the wonderful works of the Lord Jesus. But Holy Spirit, I pray you will write this line of gratitude indelibly on my heart this week. Help me witness to __________, because I ask it in Jesus name. Amen. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: Song of Solomon 7-8; Philippians 2 Tuesday, September 25 Matt. 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Father in Heaven: There is a childlike Spirit that makes me recognize and love you as Father. Rom. 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Spiritual adoption is a sweet compound made of three things: faith lets me know you, joy lets me rejoice in you, and fear that makes me tremble to displease you. At the same moment I have a confident affection and trustfulness that relies on you, and throws itself completely at you. It knows by the flawless witness of the Holy Ghost that the God of heaven and earth is the Father of my heart. Let me pray today, and walk away in the Spirit of adoption. When the winds of trouble blow and the waves of adversity rise, when my ship is reeling toward the rocks, may it be sweet to me to say, My Father, for your strong hand is on the helm. There is music, there is eloquence, and there is the essence of heaven in that word, Father. It is a symphony in two syllables. Let me say it with an unfailing tongue through an understanding of the word of God and your grace. So I come to you this week. When I talk to my Father I need not be afraid. You alone will not misunderstand me. If I slur my words out of place, you still recognize their meaning. My prayers may be broken things, but you can put them together and hear them out. What a beginning to a prayer full of faultsand a prayer, maybe, in which I will ask for what I know not. Lord, read my meaning as well as my desires! Let me draw near this week as a child to his father, and declare my needs and my sorrows in the language you teach. For so I ask in Jesus name. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Isaiah 7-9; Colossians 1 Friday, September 28 1 John 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. O Merciful Lord and Heavenly Master: With angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven, we laud and magnify your glorious name, evermore praising you. Glory be to you, O Lord Most High. We do not presume to come to you trusting in our own righteousness, but in your manifold mercies and lovingkindness. We are not worthy in ourselves to gather up the crumbs under your table, but you are the same Lord whose characteristic is to have mercy aplenty. Grant us therefore, to so fellowship with your Son today that our sinful flesh will be mortified and our soul be made one with Jesus Christ, so we can dwell all day in him and he in us by your Spirit. As your humble servants we desire you to accept our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. Grant that, by the merits and death of your Son Jesus Christ, and through faith in his blood, others can receive redemption and forgiveness of sinseven through our testimony and witness today. We offer and present our bodies a living sacrifice to you Lord, as is our reasonable and holy service. We humbly ask that everyone in our church who is a true partaker of Christs faith will be filled with your Spirit and the recipient of your grace, sufficient to every task of this day. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Isaiah 1-3; Philippians 3 Wednesday, September 26 Rom. 15:16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. Lord of Glory, Lord of Grace: It is when I have to deal with others that I see more clearly my own need of the Spirit of God. So many times in counseling, other peoples blind eyes overcome my clear presentations. Their stone-cold hearts defeat me. Sometimes they do catch MY idea, but I cannot get into their mind the mind of the Spirit, and the real soul of the gospel, or the secret of Christian growth. That remains (like creation itself) a work of revival only you can do! Psa. 36:9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. Lord I pray for power! Lord give me your Spirit, the Illuminator! Come, Light of God, and make the darkness back-up out of here! Jesus walks, but he does so much more. You alone can break my personal darkness with revival, and only after you have revived me can I enlighten others in your light. Sometimes the spirit of a slave slips over me, and I get discontent when I do not receive immediate wages and visible success. Give me back the spirit of adoption as a child. Let me work without any hope of reward, just for the joy of serving you and making you happy. Make me satisfied with the sweet fact of doing your will in spite of (and even because of) all opposition. Give me your Spirit, for your Spirit gives peace, rest, and tranquility in storms. He gives joy, boldness, and fellowship in trials. If I am not presently experiencing that, then I simply need more of Him in revival. Help me accept the delay of apparent failure as part of the trial I am made to bear, and then provoke me to keep on going. I can never fail as long as I fall forward with you. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Isaiah 10-12; Colossians 2 Saturday, September 29 Psa. 70:1 Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD. Amen! You have not forbidden me, in my hours of distress, from asking you to come and rescue me. A person in a hurry doesnt use many words. I thank you Lord, that it is perfectly all right for me to appeal to you for speedy deliverance and help. Many dangers plus my perpetual weakness both make this an imperative necessity. Psa. 70:2-3 Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt. Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha. My haters want to put my faith to shame, but Lord, let them be the ones disappointed and confused. Maybe if they see the futility of their own ends they will come to rely on Jesus to deliver them, as he delivers me. If I see men and women who try to drive others back from the cross, I ask you to retaliate by driving them back from their goal. Some people like to mock believers. Their taunts are meaninglesseven more like animal noises than human words. Frustrate their purposes so your plan might prevail. Psa. 70:4 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. All true Christians have cause for joy. I have tasted divine grace and the good word of God. I have partaken of the Holy Ghost and the power of the world to come. Let me not be ashamed, but be rejoicing! Let me scorn the scorners and call on others to glorify God. Psa. 70:5 But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.

1) TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful.
