(CLCI) last 07 August 2012 at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Makati City. The training was facilitated by Mr. Michael Simpson, Corporate Leadership Expert of FranklinCovey, a private organization that creates transformational leadership in people and organizations

around the globe through training, executive coaching, and principle-based programs. Castillo CE, Defense Researcher, Leadership Excellence Branch, underwent the said training, which was joined by participants from different

public and private organizations. The Unleashing Talent Training Module is one of the leadership solutions that FranklinCovey offers to equip leaders with the proper mind-set, skill-set and tool-set to help their people unleash their talent and contribute more effectively to the goals of their teams and organizations. The Module works under two key principles behind effective organizations. First, the people the human resource

form the foundation of the organization. Second, the relationship and communication between the leadership and the people forms the core of an effective organization. The module emphasizes the crucial role of leadership in talent management. It challenges the traditional mind-set of a mediocre leader, which is I need to constantly motivate and manage my people to get results, because it reflects the use of traditional motivation techniques (back page)

that are outdated and are no longer effective. The leader must have a mind-set that reflects greatness: My job is to release the talent and passion of our team toward our highest priorities. What will enable leaders to tap the best of their peoples abilities is the three leadership conversations on Voice, Performance and Clearing the Path. These conversations highlight the vital role of effective communication between the leader and the personnel. Leadership Conversation on Voice involves affirming the worth and potential of the person and helping him/her find his/her voice. One finds his/her voice in the organization when he/she engages in work that taps ones talent, fuels ones passion, and rises out of a clear need in the world that ones conscience draws him/her to meet.
