Version
3.0.0.x
Version Description
Software version 3.0.0.x is the third commercial software release for the EtherHaul1200 products. The software version 3.0.0.x provides performance improvements, additional features and limitation fixes. Performance improvements highlights: An Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) mechanism has been added to remove the residual BER limitation at QAM64, 4, 1, 0.5 mode of operation. ARQ is an errorcontrol method for data transmission that uses acknowledgements, messages sent by the receiver indicating that it has correctly received a data frame or packet to achieve reliable data transmission. This ARQ mechanism has resulted in improvements in the adaptive bandwidth, coding and modulation capabilities. New feature highlights (for the complete list see the new features list below): 1. Enhanced quality of service mechanisms including policing and class-based shaper 2. IEEE 802.3ah Link OAM 3. SNMP v.3. 4. Synchronous Ethernet enhancements and improvements 5. Asymmetric traffic division at a ratio of 90%-10% download upload ratio Upgrading to software version 3.0.0.x is mandatory for all EH-1200 and EH1200L.v2. For the upgrade procedure details please see the EtherHaul-1200 software upgrade procedure document. EtherHaul ODUs with release 3.0.0.x are not compatible with ODUs operating past releases.

Policing
Description
Policing capabilities have been added allowing assigning each stream with a bandwidth profile including CIR (committed rate), CBS (committed burst size), EIR (excess rate), EBS (excess burst size) color-mode. Class based shaping capabilities have been added such that shaped traffic will be dropped according to priority when the capacity changes due to link conditions (adaptive). The quality of service engine classifies the incoming packets by EXP bit (MPLS) The following IEEE 802.3ah Ethernet Link OAM are added: 1. Discovery 2. Remote loopback testing Support for automatic role (master / slave) selection of the ODUs The EtherHaul transmission may be muted. Traffic may be configured asymmetrically at a ratio of 90%-10% downstreamupstream division ratio. The following Synchronous Ethernet enhancements were added: 1. CCMs can be configured to be sent on a specific VLAN 2. QL levels are displayed in quality level names 3. Reference level quality alarms Support of SNMP v.3 capabilities. User activity log - date/time/user stamping are logged with the CLI commands Events and alarms may be masked on the EtherHaul devices. RF loopback capability to allow diagnostics of faults. Auto role setting (master / slave) is supported for quick out-of-of-the-box installation Provider Bridge (IEEE 802.1ad) is available in the default configuration not requiring to enable the L2 Features Option Package

Adaptive Bandwidth, Coding & Modulation (ABC&M) Symmetric / asymmetric Traffic Configuration Transmit power control (TPC)
Description
The EH-1200 products utilize hitless/errorless Adaptive Bandwidth, Coding & Modulation automatically making the necessary adjustments to the wireless system, optimizing the over-the-air transmission and preventing weather-related losses from causing traffic link disruption. Traffic is dropped according to the Quality of Service priority. Traffic may be configured to be either symmetric (50%-50% downstreamupstream ratio) or asymmetric. The asymmetric traffic may be configured up to a ratio of 75%-25% downstream-upstream division ratio. The nominal transmit power may be controlled to allow deployment of short distance links. The transmit power may be set to be in the range between +5 dBm (default) to -35 dBm. When commissioning a link the maximum RSSI should not exceed -35 dBm. If the maximum RSSI is exceeded the transmit power needs to be reduced until reaching the maximum RSSI. The EH-1200 products incorporate a fully functional integrated Provider Bridge (IEEE 802.1ad). The EH-1200 products provide a QoS aware Transparent Bridging (IEEE 802.1d) mode. In this mode minimal user configuration is required to achieve a point-to-point connection while still utilizing the Quality of Service and adaptive bandwidth, coding and modulation capabilities. In this mode Undef-VLAN (undefined VLAN) is set between all ports, allowing all tagged and untagged traffic. No VLAN configuration is available to the user (for VLAN configuration L2 networking software license is required relevant for the EH-1200 only). The EH-1200 products QoS Engine classifies the incoming packets by VID, PCP and/or DSCP (as defined by the IEEE 802.1 Q/p and RFC-2475 standards) and maps them onto {EVC, CoS} pairs. The EH-1200 has 8 queues per port. The EH-1200 products QoS scheduling mechanism may be configured to operate according to a strict priority or hybrid Weighted Fair Queuing and strict priority. The EH-1200 products QoS mechanism operates according to a Strict Priority scheduling mechanisms. The EH-1200 products implement shaping to optimize and guarantee performance The EH-1200 products provide the following IEEE 802.1ag CFM capabilities: 1. CFM Connectivity Check 2. CFM Link Trace 3. CFM Loopback

Description
The EH-1200 products provide the following ITU-T Y.1731 Performance Management capabilities: 1. Frame delay 2. Frame loss The EH-1200 products provides Synchronous Ethernet capabilities receiving a synchronized Ethernet link and providing a synchronized Ethernet link on the other end of the wireless link within the required masks as defined by the ITU-T G.8261 standard. The EH-1200 products provide non-proprietary ring protection based on the ITU-T G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection standard. The EH-1200 products provide alarm propagation capabilities for both radio and line faults, propagating the alarms when losing connection on the radio or Ethernet port. The EH-1200 products may be managed in the following methods: 1. CLI for full configuration and maintenance 2. SNMP 3. Web-based EMS 4. SikluView for high level administration and monitoring The EH-1200 supports Network Time Protocol (NTP) to synchronize its internal system time The EH-1200 products provide AES encryption with static key

Notes: (1) Aggregated capacity. Capacity may be divided at a ratio of: 50%-50% downstream-upstream, 75%-25% downstreamupstream or 90%-10% downstream-upstream. (2) Capacity increases when divided asymmetrically (75%-25%, 90%-10%). (3) Capacity varies according to packet size. At mode 0 the capacity is achieved at packets of 256 bytes.
