What is this project?

Its a Windows Phone 7 inspired multifunctional interactive desktop information center based on rainmeter. This suite will turn your desktop into a productive and attractive workarea , delivering only the information you need. Every interactive tile gives you information at a glance, and can be easily customized to your needs. Unlike the initial Metro design, Omnimo gives you limitless customization potential, you can customize just about every aspect of it! One of the key features of this project is that it also happened to predict how Windows 8 will look approximately - so you can use it to make your desktop look almost exactly like the Windows 8 start screen with much more customization options.

Installation
Step 1: Make sure you have Rainmeter 2.0 or higher installed. To download it, click
here

Step 2: Double click on the Setup.rmskin file, it should install everything automatically and you will be greeted by the Intro. After installation, select your settings and then the theme+resolution to apply the optimum layout. Don't worry if your desktop resolution is not included, you can move things around to your liking anyway.

The Basics
Here are some of the basic things you may need to know while using Omnimo. All panels are resizable individually as well as all-at-once using the Color Gallery, also each panel can have its own color. You can access the color gallery by clicking the icon under the gallery arrow on your desktop. Make sure to click apply after any small changes youve made. The vast majority of Omnimo items can be closed by middle clicking. Everything else youll discover while using Omnimo :) P.S. You can find a conclusive customization guide on our website (omnimo.info)

Tip for wallpapers

Its recommended to use either a Solid color wallpaper, something very dark, or a tinted normal wallpaper. However you can just enable the background and use any wallpaper you like. To enable the background right click any Panel, select WP7\Background\bg.ini. You can customize some of the aspects of the background like aero blur, color gradients by clicking the settings icon which appears when you move your mouse to the very top right corner of your screen. There is a more customizable background variant which is resizable.

Tip for desktop icons

The fact that you will not be able to access your desktop icons might be a deciding factor whether using the fullscreen theme in Omnimo or not. Still, there is a possible workaround for this issue: 1. Download Stardock Fences and install it. 2. Right click any empty space on the desktop and close the background 3. Customize fences to your liking and drag icons from your desktop to it.

4. New icons will appear on top left corner, you can drag them to fences

Please note that you don't have to use the fullscreen theme - you can simply close the background and move the panels somewhere so they wouldn't overlap your desktop icons - that way you can use Omnimo and your desktop icons side by side.

Freequently asked questions

1. I downloaded Omnimo 3 but I dont know what to do next. Download rainmeter from www.rainmeter.net, install rainmeter, and after that you can install Omnimo by doubleclicking the skin file. 2. How do I ad/remove panels from my desktop? Click the + button on the desktop and click on the panel you want to ad. Click the arrow button near the Gallery text to see the next pages of the gallery items. Middle click to close any panel. 3. How to change color skins? Open the color gallery by clicking the paint brush icon which appears under the Arrow when you hover it. You can change many aspects of the skins from this window. 4. How to close stuff manually? Almost all configs in omnimo can be closed by middle clicking. You can close stuff manualy by right clicking it and selecting close skin too. Additionally if you need to close things like the background, right click the rainmeter tray icon, select your config from the menu and click close skin. 5. How to open stuff manually? Right click either the tray icon or any skin on the desktop, select Configs, WP7 and further folders and then open the skin. 6. Omnimo overwrote my theme which took me hours to set up No worries, go to RainThemes, and load rainstaller backup. 7. I made a nice desktop layout and I dont want to lose it. You can save rainmeter themes by right clicking the tray icon, themes, manage themes and save your theme. 8. How to get my city weather code? Go to weather.com. Search your city. Youll see something like this in your addressbar: http://www.weather.com/weather/today/Klaipeda+Lithuania+LHXX0008?

lswe=klaipeda&from=searchbox_localwx The highlighted part is your weather code. Click the settings icon which appears on the top right of the panel on mouseover, and in the settings paste the weather code, click set, change the unit if you need, and click set again. Then close the settings box and the panel should refresh automatically. If it didnt, right click it and select refresh skin. 9. My mail isnt working You can use only Gmail with rainmeter right now. If Gmail doesnt work means you typed something incorrect, check it and refresh the panel, wait up to 10 seconds for it to gather information. Same thing applies for all panels which require login. Due to a bug in rainmeter, passwords that contain special characters do not work. Also if you live in Germany where Gmail has been forced to rename their service to Google Mail, the Panel may also not work... 10. I closed the +/arrow button and I cant access the gallery any more. Right click any omnimo item on your desktop, go to WP7 and select galleryarrow or galleryplus. You can access all configs from that menu. 11. My userpicture doesn't show Go to control panel, accounts and set your userpicture again 12. Why is my Installed Panels gallery empty? You need to download some items from omnimo.info 13. The website is down, where can I download addons? Again? Oh my. Visit http://omnimoaddons.deviantart.com 14. My clock is in military time, how to change it? Most clock items either provide a Variant or can be changed in the settings by typing a different format. 15. Weather forecast is in Celsius, how to change it to Fahrenheit? Right click it and select Weather4daysfarenheit.ini If you're using the TextItem, click the arrow icon which appears near the C letter. 16. Im worried about the security of my password Normal users have nothing to worry about, rainmeter uses atom feed authentication from google to parse new emails as well as other services. Your passwords are secured by the configuration applet. However be advised that its not recommended if your computer is used by anyone other than you. 17. My antivirus detects there might be a Trojan in this suite. Again, not to worry! This is a false positive triggered by the UPX compression used in our configuration utilities. In Omnimo 4 we reduced the amount of UPX compressed files to just 1. Please let us know which antivirus detects it so we can contact them and notify about the false positive detection. 18. Whats the seculock password and can I change it? 7942, and no. SecuLock is not very secure as the title suggests either... 19. I contributed to Omnimo (helping/donations etc) but I haven't recieved my complimentary panel pack. Please email us at omnimosupport[at]gmail.com

20. I broke the configuration window somehow, how can I configure stuff now? Open the skin's folder and edit UserVariables.inc with notepad then. 21. I found a bug in Omnimo/Translation. We continiously try to perfect our product, however only 2 people can't make sure everything is flawless in a project this big. So please email a bug report to us at omnimosupport[at]gmail.com
